Maybe this question was asked before, maybe by me - but...
Don't you guys get the impression that movie Ironhide is a reincarnation of Trailbreaker, while Movie Ratchet is just Hoist?
I mean - beyond the color schemes matching up, the vehicle modes do too - since both of them are kind of semi-pick-up trucks. Hoist/Ratchet especially - but Ironhide as well...
The characters also are actually kind of a mix...since Trailbreaker - like Ironhide - was a tough guy (although far more soft spoken) while Hoist was also a "handy man" like Ratchet...
In fact, I kind of get the feeling that the Movie does a lot of "combining" of elements from the mythos.
Elements of Rhinox are also visible in Ratchet....
Bumblebee has a design that evokes both the Prowl/Bluestreak/Jazz design (wings) and some Sideswipe/Sunstreaker
