I thought I had forgotten the horror, but a clearout today marked the rediscovery of Recon Ironhide... a toy that could not hold itself together. Survivor of the Bayformer purge it lies in peices in a Clifton cards bag. Still has some of the coolest clip n bar add-ons though.

The elastic on G2 HotRod broke today. I wonder if there's a type of band to replace it with. I want to try and fix the figure carefully.

This is not what we expect to hear of such a high end line. Was it Takara or Hasbro release? Can you see from the break what caused it? Was there a bubble in the plastic weaking the hinge? Was it stress related? Why is the sky blue? Who is Kaiser Soze? These are all questions that need answers!

It's the peg that holds one of the tail halves on. It sheered when TFing into robot mode. The peg's a hollow tub because it carries a screw within and it's sheered just beyond the screw.
I've got a memory of one of the tail screws giving me trouble before and having to be glued in. It tf'd fine afterwards though.....

Honestly, I watched it back in the day and found it tedious and mostly very badly acted. The poster was good though.

Not exactly broken, but it appears that my Classics Bluestreak is fading. The black section on the bonnet appears to be retreating slightly at the edges and the grey is beginning to show through. It is very odd, I don't think I've ever had anything quite like this happen to a toy. I've seen things yellow, seen things become brittle, but this is a new phenomenon.

That mold sounds like it's cursed! I don't know that it is the mold - I've got Prowl and the Botcon versions as well, and the only one of them which is showing any weird effects is Bluestreak. I think this must be something specific to that release. Karl |
