Second ransom note arrived this morning. £76.08 this time. Apparently the exchange rate has changed slightly since yesterday. Paid on the website, and boxes will be delivered tomorrow.
Could have been worse. As long as they're undamaged I'll take that as a win.

Almost had a panic attack when someone said they were going to send a rather high-value package by DHL, until I remembered that German's in the EU so there shouldn't be any need for CUTA reaming... right?

I think my reply is far too rude for the delicate sensibilities of the tmuk crowd. But this news is entirely in keeping with the rest of my day so far. Tracking confirms that it's being charged so between parcelarse fees and actual customs tariffs I expect to be out about a hundred quid or more. Ooffff.
