Just caught that via my RSS feed. Such a shame, he made Columbo such an engaging show to watch.

As far as someone with severe alzheimers can be, hes lucky in that he's reached a good age before it became dibilititating and I hope he's got a decent amount in the bank for the nursing care that will make his final years comfortable.
And I never knew he was an oscar nominee. So hard to not think of him as Columbo even in The Princess Bride.

T'is a great shame. He was one of those iconic actors for folk of a certain age band.

I caught an episode a few months back with Patrick MacGoohan in it. Barking.

While trawling the board for a thread with a title too short to be searched for I found the news of his diagnosis and brought it back to the top of this thread.

God bless him.
But you know he'll be back having forgotten something.
Might watch 'The Princess Bride' this weekend in his honour.
"As you wish."

I've got California Dolls in the archive to watch in memorium.
A wrestling film before its time.
