It is rather unexpected. Of all the things that might have made a resurgence, this was not on my list of likely candidates.

I've heard rumours of this for a while, good to see it might actually be happening. Captain Planet was awesome!

Sorry, I never really cared for it myself. I was surprised to read that it lasted six seasons, though, so credit where it's due.

The Knights of Pendragon comic (volume 1) handled environmental themes much better at around the same time.
However, I do retain a tat love of the Captain (mostly due to the comic) and will be there on opening day! Oh yes!
