I have never heard of this film, but as seeing that George Peppard is in it I must watch this.

I love Battle Beyond the Stars. But then I love most cinematic versions of this story I have seen from the Kurosawa version on, so really it was inevitable that I would.

There was a similarly-themed film from the same period shown yesterday on Channel 5 - did anyone else watch The Last Starfighter?

I hadn't watched it in years. I have to say, I was very impressed by the CGI-before-CGI-existed effects. They were far ahead of their time. (Created, of course, as all retro sci fi trivia buffs know, on a Cray supercomputer.)

That was uncalled for. Andy I'm sorry, but when I encounter someone - anyone- dissing the cinematic masterpiece that is THE LAST STARFIGHTER a primal response is generated by my brain. I have no control over this. -Ralph

Space Raiders on the other hand..... It has been a long time since I saw that (and I'm sure that it was billed under a different title) and a fair length of time since I thought of it. It is not a pleasant thing to remember. Cut-and-shut film making at its worst. Karl

I need to re-watch this again. Happy times!
That kid from Space Raiders looks like Justin from Power Rangers Turbo.

I've tried my best to forget PR: Turbo. 3rd Season of MMPR and PR:Zeo were much better.

I saw this again recently at Turnbull Towers. Upset was caused by me pointing out that the spaceship is a set of gnads.

One of my fave films as a kid, didn't realise till I was a bit older that it is essentially The Magnificent Seven (Seven samurai) in space lol
