I know it's some way off yet but I've been racking my brains for a suitable activity for a Swincon next year. Last year we went to the steam museum. This year we went to Aldbourne. I have discovered that there is an hourly Bus Service between Swindon & Avebury. Therefore there is a proposal that we make an educational visit to Avebury, one of the largest Neolithic sites in Europe. I believe there is a pub there. We can thrash dates out closer the time but almost certainly in the late April/Early May time frame.

Will there be any powerful living rocks there under the command of Vivian Fay?
Easter Holiday period is easiest for me.

I didn't know we had pubs that old.
Off-topic (but closer in time), any thoughts as to which weekend ScotCon will fall upon this year?

Scotcon is over.
It's time to talk dates.
Unless everyone fancies returning to Cardiff instead?

Wherever is fine. Just need to check when STEPS is happening so Turn & Burn can plan their next tour and thus note availability.

Sorry you won't be coming here to see STEPS. Better stick to Swindon this time and then have another Cardiff meet-up some time after the Dr Who Experience has relocated here (June 2012, is it?). And of course there's also this at the end of June... So yeah, for the spring, best stick to Swindon. Martin

I'm fairly easy-osey with wherever - Swindon is nice, and so is Cardiff so I am fine with either. I should be available pretty much any time in the spring as well - the only plan in the wind for next year looks like being early summer (family trip to a very small and thinly populated island of the south coast of England all being well).

Did we propose a date for this?
I now have Liz's teaching dates, which are inconvenient but doable:
04/02/12 25/02/12 17/03/12 21/04/12 19/05/12 16/06/12 14/07/12 04/08/12 When's Easter and Turnbull's Birthday?

I've got a fairly empty diary up until the back end of May, when I have a family holiday planned. April might well work for me too.

I don't think 26/27 May is a Bank Holiday weekend in 2012. I think we get 4th and 5th June off. The public holiday is the 21st and 22nd of May, for me anyway. Which is why my two weeks leave is only costing me eight days. Last weekend in April works well for me for Swincon. Karl
