I can't believe anyone would still use IE. Andy The majority of the computer-using world do. Indeed, many of the people I work with don't even know what a web browser is. They just know that there is a button on "one of the computer's screens" that they click to "get the internet". Most folk using public computers in libraries, or those at their work have no choice but to use IE. Like Windows it is one of those things that the majority believe that they have to have to make a computer "work". Karl

I can't believe anyone would still use IE. I do, because (a) it was there when I bought the PC, and (b) it works. No doubt the same reason most people use it. And it's what they use across government. At home I tend to only visit half a dozen sites, keep my anti-virus software and ZoneAlarm up-to-date, clear my disk cache and cookies every day and don't keep essential files on my hard drive. I'm not losing too much sleep. Maybe I should? Martin

Pretty worrying stuff I must say.
I think I'm sorted with my IE. I upgrade my browser stuff constantly.

When I was with BT I used only the BT Yahoo browser which I found acceptable. Since I switched to Virginmedia I have only used IE as my browser of choice as Virgin don't have their own browser. When I get a new computer in the new year I will start using something like Firefox as my current computer runs extremly slowly with browsers like that.

In actual fact you were using IE on both occasions - the BT Yahoo "browser" is a new front-end grafted onto IE's html rendering engine and what-not. I still have IE on the system - mostly because of the amount of damage it would do to actually remove it completely, what with the way it intertwines itself into the operating system like the ivy into the structure of my shed. I have however made sure that it can't be spawned without difficulty, and it is on my firewalls blocked application list at the moment so it can't get access to the outside world in any event. I guess it is sort of tossing it in an oubliette or something...... Karl
