Can you think of any Transformer toys that have very quickly gone from being the hottest ticket in town to can't shift for love or money?
TRUs Masterpiece Grimlock might be a recent example: couldn't find them anywhere, now swimming in them.
Stepper would be another: the only reissue that has actually depriciated in value.

Windcharger almost got there but I think they are still going for more than retail.
MP Skywarp maybe.

I'm sure most of the 'substitute classics' people had before Classics fall into this category. All those Armada / Energon repaints that looked a bit like the originals.
Robot Masters Starscream went from being the top dog to bottom of the heap.
Arguably Botcon + Universe Springers after that 3rd party Springer was released.
That's why repainting as classic figures isn't always a great idea unless it is planned from the beginning. Sooner or later a more bespoke solution will come along and make it totally redundant.

Yup.
Botcon Thundercracker has plummeted in price though it still costs a fair bit so dog meat may be harsh. Henkei Thundercracker too.
Hard to say about Botcon Dirge and Trust. Thrust is clearly the best version of the three thanks to the wings and has kept its price. Dirge was always the cheapest of the set but remains a little unique as it used Ramjets wings so has oddity value.
Botcon Scourge and Sweeps have gone down too despite being fairly good.
Not that Botcon Kup was ever anything but dog meat, but thanks to Gen Kup its now Dog meat thats been in one end and out the other.

Tomahawk and Terradive have just become very common and their prices have come down thanks to a surge in grey market imports. Whether they actually become shelfwarmers remains to be seen.

Built To Rule have gone in the opposite direction. Originally shelf warmers, they sell well now, presumably because it must be hard to get a complete one.

I sold four of them at Auto Assembly this year, having taken them unsuccessfully each year. Hmm, I wonder if the high cost of KRE-O was a factor.
I remember selling one without any trouble on eBay last year.
