The Silly Season for toy shopping is in fall swing. In years gone by some very odd stuff would show up in shops about now. What did you find in the past ?
1997: TRU got a load of BW Fuzor basics and Yr2 BW dlx toys in on US cards. Amongst those was the otherwise unreleased BW Grimlock. 3 days before Christmas TRU put out the first Transmetal assortment so I swagged them early. Great days.

TJ Hughes Glasgow has often thrown up strange stuff this time of year. I still recall with amusement the sudden appearance of the half-price Unicron mountain a few Chrimbos ago.

What the hell was I doing in 97 to miss Grimlock. Took till this year to get it. I worked Christmas 2000 at TRU and got BW Fuzor Silverbolt who appeared then.

That's a years after his UK release, he was a 99 UK toy IIRC
But that puts me in the mind of a stock clearance store in Woking that had Gold Boxed Classics, Japanese carded GI Joes and the Bird Sentai Combiner at Christmas 94
Christmas 97 I got my Autobot Cyberjets, the Shogun Megazord and the Falconzord from a clearnce shop in Epsom. The onl;y place I saw the Stargate version of the AWE Striker ! The next year I was taking home 12 inch sw figures from them for £5

1994 is still the best silly season year for me when my local Heatons put out G1 Megatrons for £10 (that's punts at the time, around £8 sterling) each! I snagged 3, one eachfor me, my brother and Marc. My local Tesco got a similar Unicron mountain about two years ago and were selling them for 20 euro each.
