Made it fifty pages in before putting it down.
Dull, and it's rehashing plots from the Cybertron cartoon.
No more please.

I actually quite enjoyed it, it was rehashing the Cybertron series somewhat, but actually improving it, it's how I would have preferred the Velocitron part of that series to have been (rather than 20 episodes of just races or whatever it was) and then it delves into the Thirteen's storyline quite a bit as well, telling us more about the causes of their own civil war and where their artifacts came from etc

It is a proper story set over just a few days/weeks rather than millions of years. That's the main reason why I like this story over Exodus

Is the prose in the same deathly style as Exodus? The bit that makes Cybertron worth watching is when the writers and actors agreed to have fun with it, sneaking in one-liners and poking fun at the plot & stock footage. I would hate to see Cybertron done in the Exodus style. Alternatively, I'd love to see Exodus redone to be full of one-liners, lampooning, and Soundwave talking like a DJ.

The bit that makes Cybertron worth watching There were bits of Cybertron that were worth watching? I phsyically can't watch it. I tried. I even watched all of Armada. But Cybertron just felt like some crude awful CGI dubbed over by some children without a script (and yes I know it was the same team but somehow it is unlistenable to my ears)

Finished "Part 2" of it today. Now that the characters are off Velocitron, it's taken an upswing - I think maybe because this is the first time that Junkion's culture has actually been examined in a serious way, instead of just as a source of jokes (but possibly also because Velocitron is rubbish and was the worst part of the Cybertron cartoon, too - there is just no interesting way to interpret "everyone likes to race"). I like the new take on Wreck-Gar - combining the "actually quite lucid but obfuscates it by taking weird" manner of G1 Wreck-Gar with the bellowing ADD-ness of the Animated character. Also, the strange "unedited" feel of the book has dropped off on Junkion - on Velocitron, bots were switching from place to place as the result of what were obviously editing gaffes, and characters would be repeating themselves, or changing their tunes, or acting as if certain things hadn't happened. It was a real mess. The Junkion story hasn't had any of those problems. I'm enjoying the good show Prowl is getting in the book (it's been a decent few years for him, what with all the attention he's been getting in IDW - I hope they let him be in Fall of Cybertron), and I like the greater "quest for the Star Saber" pieces plot a lot, but that IS because I feel a bit "rewarded" by it, having followed it over from the Fun Publications comics where it began.

Well I for one hope they make a 3rd novel, maybe have them go to Gigantion, Animatros or even Nubulos or something.
Maybe they could give appearances to some of the Beast Era characters on Animatros, or show that the Headmaster procress is at least being worked on in this continuity or anything like that really.
There's a wealth of ideas from the Transformers back catalogue that they could easily work into it (like they have been already)
And I think there's something up with that Hightail guy from Velocitron, maybe he's Amalgamous Prime in disguise? Could happen, he was a Shifter after all, and there seemed to be something different about him.

I can't really see why some people don't like it, I actually quite enjoyed the book Different strokes for different folks. If you enjoyed it there's nowt wrong with that. For me, personally, I just find the prose style to be thunderingly dull and so I can't get interested in the events happening. -Ralph

I liked it better than Exodus because it had a more novelish structure. Also had a few interesting elements in it. Still, it's no Eugenesis...

Still, it's no Eugenesis... Very few things in Transformers fiction are though... Still haven't read Exiles . I am hesitant in spending the money on it after reading its predecessor. If it follows the same path which that did then Exiles may well turn up in my library in about May of next year mind you... At least then it wouldn't cost me anything. Karl
