I eventually lost interest in Prime. It was ok but not good enough to go to the effort to *cough*. I may give it another go if turns up on UK iTunes.
Pissed all over Animated from a high height though. At least it wasn't just a homage show aimed at 20-something fanboys.

I hope they leave the Unicron thing alone this season. Things went pear-shaped when he turned up IMO.
I want Wheeljack to return as I was disappointed he no-showed the finale. I also want something good to happen with Starscream to stop him being a lonely emo.
Oh yes, and Dinobots too.

It had a lot of homages sure, but none of them were intregal to any of the plots, it was mostly lots of easter eggs. Prime is just so... drab At least to me, there's no energy of any kind to it.

What would you all like to see in Season 2 of Transformers: Prime? ===KEN A reason to care about the Autobots. I find myself more interested in Starscream, Airachnid, Knockout and even Soundwave (stole the show in the finale with *that* scene with Airachnid). Megs bores me to tears, tho. Judging by the love the show gets over at tfw2005, I think I'm in the minority. On the plus side, the toys do look nice.

Boo Ralph I thought Animated was pitched just right. It had a lot of homages sure, but none of them were intregal to any of the plots, it was mostly lots of easter eggs. Animated didn't really do it for me - at least, it did initially when there was a sense of the Decepticons being a real threat and resoundingly outclassing the Autobots, the latter fighting human supervillians was quite fun as well. For me the problem was a combination of a number of characters that I didn't really like that much - Bumblehotshotbee simply irritated me beyond words, and Starscream had all the fun sucked out of him rapidly - and the fact that the Easter Eggs kept acting like speed bumps and throwing me out of the show. I just found them jarring and annoying and as the number of them seemed to increase my level of interest in the show decreased. I actually quite liked what I have seen of Prime - I thought it was quite well directed, and I quite liked a lot of the character dynamics (also, Prime's Starscream is what I was hoping Animated's version would turn out like). But everyone's mileage is going to vary I guess. Karl

Like minded people! I get so tired of being the odd man out and getting treated like I don't know anything when I say Prime just doesn't deserve the praise it gets!
The first season left me cold on this series. I see potential all over the place... but potential that never comes to anything. And while I liked the new twist they put on Unicron, having him this early in the series, when they certainly have not earned it just about killed it for me altogether. I found the writing to be very boring, virtually devoid of any character developement, the characetrs are bland and lifeless (Save for like, two or three). The animation also does not impress me nearly as much as it does others. I find them to be over-animated (The easiest example without pointing out specific scenes is anytime Megatron talks, he becomes a bobblehead), and the characetr models rarely look like they exist in the environment they're in. The universe they inhabit feels lifeless, cold, dead, and empty. Now I understand CG is expensive and has it's limits (Which is exatcly why I cringe anytime a show is announced to be CG, exactly like this one), but hell... Beast Machines was set on a world that was barren and empty, completely devoid of life... and the world still felt vast, full, and vibrant. Without ever showing anyone outside of the main cast. Prime is set on a world with 8 billion people, yet you almost never see another car on the road. You almost never even get more than the slightest hint of any people outside of the maincast. And even though the universe is teaming with autobots and decepticons, when one shows up out of nowhere (Like Wheeljack), it's like he came from nothing. And when he left, it's like he no longer exists. (Even the first movie, I felt like there were TFs everywhere off world, even though they were never really even mentioned). This is just bad writing, on the part of the show's writers. And it sticks out like a sore thumb whenever I look at Clone Wars.
So, to make a long post short, my hopes and expectations for Season Two were very low. I *had* none. But the season premier was better than all of Season One put together. It was one of the few episodes that kept my interest until the end, and it so far has been the only episode to make me want to see more. The second episode was a let down, feeling like more of the same. But I have higher hopes for the second season now, if they can keep up with the first episode.
So, my expectations really are the same as any other series- Interesting characters, and decent writing. Both are things the series is sorily lacking.

If you check out The Garfield Show, it shows how much a difference extra cars on the road and out of focus moving people in the distance can make.
