To all those who bought Volume 1 and enjoyed it - hooray!
Volume 2's a cracker - and can I say a very public 'thank you' to Lloyd/marvelmanoz for the phenomenal amount of scanning (and cleaning up) he's done. Thank you, Lloyd!
To business: a while ago, someone posted a scan of the advert for TFUK that appeared in the back of the Find Your Fate books. Can someone re-post it, or - even better - email a high-res version to me?
Also, if anyone has any memorabilia or tidbits that you think would look good in a volume covering issues 45 to 77 - maybe a 'well done for getting your letter printed' letter from Soundwave, for example - please give me a shout. Any UK- or Euro-centric toy (printed) material - catalogs, giveaways, offers etc - would also be welcomed, just in case we include a section on that.
Thanks, chaps!

Hi James Fantastic book - can't wait for Volume 2. James Wilson is your man for this: No luck on the Marvel UK stuff, it was all too old or too new. We do have Dinobot War though, with the advert Martin mentioned which looks like this: So if you want a hi res scan of that send me a PM with the details. Martin

I'm sure you've got most of them - but i've got laying around some toys booklets that i can post you so you have hold of to scan. But expect you might already have them. The 1986/87 one is in good condition.
I remember that advert from the books. I think i've got those books somewhere in a box.

Hey Guys, I'd love to get some opinions/help on something I'll be submitting for Volume 2. I was always under the impression that issue #53 came with a sheet of 6 stickers from Pannini as apposed to a packet. That's how my issue came anyway when I purchased it on Ebay some time ago. Someone else I've spoken to also had a sheet. I just saw this on Ebay though: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320792468786?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649This person is selling a packet with theirs and when I asked them what they thought they replied by telling me : "not sure about packet or sheet i seem to remeber them being in packet and the sheet of stickers came with the album a couple of issues before" Now, my problem with this is that inside issue #52 which came with the sticker album the forward on page 2 says " We'll be starting your collection off in 7 days' time (if you can wait that long, that is) with six FREE stickers.". So, I think it's safe to say that the album that came with issue #52 had no stickers and #53 came with either the sheet or packet.......now this is where you guys come in I have my sheet of stickers already scanned but just in case I also have a packet on its way from Ebay as we speak. Appreciate the help!

I don't remember the specific occasion. I remember getting packets of six Panini stickers (Transformers and non-Transformers) with various comics in my youth, but never a sticker sheet.

The packet rings a bell as does the sheet. Did the sheet come with the album and the packet with the other issue?

That's my recollection.
Whenever there was a sticker album there was a sheet bagged with them as well.

Yeah, I wasn't buying the comic at that time, so couldn't say for definite, but I remember new sticker albums coming with a sheet of stickers.

Thanks for all of your input....it does make it a more difficult decision though considering my previous post:
"#52 which came with the sticker album the forward on page 2 says " We'll be starting your collection off in 7 days' time (if you can wait that long, that is) with six FREE stickers."
So even the comic said that the next issue (#53) is when they would be sending out the free stickers...not with the album.
I have issue #186 still sealed in its original plastic newsagent bag with the Action Force sticker album and inside that there is a packet of 6 stickers...not a sheet. Issue #187 has a packet also. As far as I know, the only time stickers didn't come with the album was the Transformers album...Action Force and Secret Wars both got them in the album issues and the following issues.
In terms of sheets coming with the albums....it has not been the case with the Marvel Transformers UK series...they may have done that with other series. I have a packet stuck to Secret Wars II #38 but then alternatively a sheet of 6 with the Transformers album factory sealed with Secret Wars II #37.
It looks like a sheet for #53 would be the odd choice based on the rest of the series so for consistency sake I think it will be safer to go with the packet for Volume 2.
I appreciate all the help guys!

Whatto, Hubbers.
Can anyone help? You remember how, when reprinting part 2 of a US story, TFUK used to frame the first page with a special border that IIRC contained the TF logo, a recap of the story and - here's the thing - some artwork?
I know that from issue 52 the border panel featured Optimus Prime transforming, as drawn by Geoff Senior. But prior to that - we're talking issue 34, 36, 38 or 40 - I'm sure there was a different picture - another full body shot of Optimus, but a close up.
For the life of me I can't recall which of those issues it was in, or who drew that Optimus - maybe it was culled from a US strip?
I can't access my UK issues at the moment, so I'm relying on your good selves to help me out - again!
Thanks!

It was Barry Kitson who drew that Optimus Prime, his initials can be seen at the bottom right of the image. It's first in issue 4, 6, 23, 25 and all the second half of us stories up to and including issue 40.

I received book two this morning. As with the first book, I really enjoyed reading the TFUK complete history, interviews, and story intros. Thanks to James Roberts and everyone else who contributed.

My copy was waiting for me when I got home. Not read much so far but it looks to be another top job from James. I notice the 1986 Annual has been labelled as such. Hurrah!

'Transformers Classics UK Volume 2' is one of the two best things IDW has ever printed, the other of course being 'Transformers Classics UK Volume 1'. It's amazing. I came home to find it on my doormat this afternoon and immediately sat down and read every word of James' new text commentary in it.
When I go to bed I shall read some of the stories themselves. I do know most of them backwards, but the text stories other than 'State Games' are hazy in my memory and certainly due for a re-read.
For some reason I find the sentence "We all despised Captain Rik" hilariously funny.
Hand-painted artwork is the best. Computer colouring is pretty soulless by comparison. I'm curious - when was the last time a Transformers comic was hand-painted? Surely not 1986?
TF Classics UK Vol. 2 goes on my list of things to save if my house burnt down, along with Vol. 1 and the TF US Titan hardbacks. Well, actually, it doesn't, as I know I could replace it easily enough, but you know what I mean. These are my top TF books of all time.
The only reason one page of 'The Icarus Theory' is printed out of sequence is because it is contrary to the laws of nature for any work of man to achieve perfection.

Martin, old chum, your words have lifted my spirits. A lot of blood, sweat and tears go into these books, and speaking as someone who's knee-deep in pulling together Volume 3, your appreciation for Volume 2 has given me a real boost.
Hooray!
