Hello Sportsfans.
I'm after a really nice Hardback copy of Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke. There are several on Amazon and other places. Reviews tend to be about the story itself, and not that particular edition. Any Hubbers know of a way to determine the individual quality of a particular version of a book?
Thanking you in advance, my brave Cyber chumbs.

When comparing different editions, I find nothing beats the old 'go find copies in a bookshop/library and see what it is like in hand' approach.

I'd agree with Ralph, except that finding a library or bookshop that has one, let alone multiple hardcover editions of that particular novel is a tall order.
As it's a novel written in English, at least you don't have to worry that the translation/text will vary in quality between editions. I think you'll just have to go on the look of the cover and price.
