I'd love to do more fiddling with it, but I don't really know what I'm doing with Windows Movie Maker. I can't figure out how to change the length of titles or even how to change the background colour since the tab doesn't seem to work! -Nick |

The new Windows Movie Maker is awful. It makes me angry. Yes they seem to downgrade it and strip out features every version, presumably to encourage you to buy the more expensive version. The earliest one I had was amazing! You could do pretty much everything with it. I guess that was the problem for Microsoft! |

Careful now.
I'm using the XP version, although I have the Windows 7 version as well on the laptop- that couldn't even open the video files from my camera!

Windows 7 is the one that upsets me greatly. Somehow they seemed to half the range of features while making the remaining ones something like 504 times harder to use. I spent about 2 weeks just trying to work out how to show the frames in thumbnail enlarged enough to trim a bit off the end.
A week later I worked out how to trim.
And so on.
