Due to them personal circumstances one hears so much about, 2D is off the cards for me this weekend. Was playing chicken with it all year, but it came down to it, and I can't get away for it. Gutted, especially with the Hub presence this year. You guys will love it though, seriously. It's an annual highpoint for me, which makes it doubly sucky about events conspiring against me. Tell Ryall how much you're digging MTMTE anyway, and remind him that IDW needs more Roche 'Ritin'! He's a good egg.

I had a good time at 2D, got some great sketches done, and was lovely to see some peeps again if only for a short period.

2D was a pretty good event, some minor quibbles regarding the Friday night panels and the quiz not withstanding. The highlight for me was the Cam Kennedy panel. Even got to ask the man a question.

Other than the headache of the Friday night event, it was decent enough and I am glad I made the effort to come over. Nice to see a lot of kids there out with their folks.

Nay, with regards to Belfast. In a shocking break with tradition he found a nice quiet B&B. 15 mins walk to city centre (involving crossing a bridge!), clean, friendly staff, reasonable rates and utterly enormous breakfasts. I would use them again.

In Derry, Marc of this very parish kindly put us up!

What were the issues on the Friday night though? Everything okay? I clench to think that you guys didn't enjoy the evening.

The two panels were in a bar and people were more interested in talking than listening to it. Both panels needed a moderator to tell the audience to belt up. A minor quibble though. Plus they became quiet when Chris McFeeley shouted them down. The audience that is, not the crowd.
