I went back four pages to see if this topic existed already, and noticed by that point I was a year into the past. Any further and thread necromancy might be looked more down on than starting a new one. (Over on the TCC, Pete will shut down a thread if half a year passed between posts. ) So, I appologize if a thread already exists and that I should have used it. Anyway, Being Human was one of my favorite shows. Wasn't that fond of the american version though. However, with the start of Season/Series four, they seem to be getting away from everything that made me love the series. I'll let a couple more episodes go before I make a final judgement, but I'm not sure I like the new direction. Anyone else a fan of the series, or in the same boat? Further more, the further the american series gets away from just being a pointless copy of the original, the more I like it. And with three of the four original and main characters dead, the american version is staying more true to the series foundation. And I'm finding I'm enjoying it more. So... I'm not sure what to think, anymore.

Haven't caught the US version yet, but am still enjoying the fourth series. I might even prefer it a little to the third. I felt Mitchell at least had run his course, the rest came as more of a surprise. I suppose its an advantage of the US system that actors are tied to such long contracts it brings stability to shows, but so far at least the new characters are developing a decent new dynamic.
I just hope for more Mark Williams.
Its been a bit of a year for cast changes Misfits has lost half its cast in the last year as well. Hopefully its fourth year will stay good.

I agree about Mitchell. And it was a very fitting and touching way out for him. As for the rest, what I read on Wikipedia, is that the creator left, the producers have left, and with them gone, the cast didn't want to do it anymore. So, save for the goddess known as Lenora Critchlow (And the werewolf boy), everyone onscreen and off are all new. But we all know how reliable Wikipedia can be, so grain of salt. At least it let me brace myself when the season premier aired last saturday. (We're only one episode in) Even still, it didn't spoil anything so hearing about Nina's exit was harsh, and George's brought tears to my eyes. (It helps that he was my absolute favorite).
The US version is... odd. They're stuck in the "Make it sexy" kick that syfy (And a lot of channels) are on. Which only helps take me out of the series. The first half of season one is virtually identical to the UK version. Some times shot for shot. But it also goes it's own direction (Like the plot with Mitch beying sent the vampire porn, and the boy finds it). The US series takes it in a totally different direction after that. Then by the end of the season, they're almost completely separate. Coming into the second season, they're delving into the mythos of what it means to be a ghost, a vampire, and a werewolf, and doing very different things than the original. So... if you want to check it out sometime, I would recommend starting somewhere in the middle or towards the end to see if you like it, and *then* going back and watching it from the start, if you do.

I know the creator Toby Whithouse is still involved so that much of the wiki is wrong, but there may have been other behind the scenes changes that caused their departures, but I think it was mostly to do other things.
Probably a dvd purchase for the US series at some point.

Onto the third episode of series four now. And I have to say I'm feeling it, now. I like the new characters, I like the new vibe going on.
I'm also convenced Annie has an extreme badass in her somewhere. We saw a little of it in the series 2 finale. Now is just a matter of time until it comes out.
