So DOTM Leadfoot and Que Deluxes got me thinking.
I kinda don't want to pay £40+ on Japanese imports for what should be £10 figures in the current supermarket sales. Do we think these moulds will show up again at some point at more reasonable domestic prices?
But what toys have you seen as prototypes/concepts that you've thought "YES!" and then had Hasbro/Takara deny you?
G2 Protectobots are a given.

Unicron (both original & Beast Wars Neo versions) would have sprung to mind but as we eventually got the Armada one, I'm quite happy.
Would still love to see the original (80's style brick) Arcee figure though.

The "Smokescreen" Armada Hotshot vs "Drench" Wheeljack battle in a box springs to mind as does the original "Sixshot" coloured Armada Demolishor.
Orange Tigatron! There's a few other nice BW "prototype" colours seen in catalogues etc that would be nice.

I loved the look of the Double Pretenders shown at Botcon 96. I'm a sucker for the small pretenders so throw double in to the title and Whamo!
I second the original 80s Unicron, either version. I imagine they would have been fun.

Found a shop in HK that had no Transformers other than a basket full of these, along eith Longracks and Runabouts, all loose and bagged. Looked at them and remembered Jaymz and a few other people had said they were on their way, so didn't buy them and thought I'd get the boxed versions. I cry a little bit every time I see them go for a grand on EBay. Really nice too, had the character's name written along the side of the toy ala Transmetal BW figures. Ah well... |

During 6" Titanium (which I love) there were prototype pics of a 6" Shockwave figure. That would have made me very happy.
Got ma 6" Titanium Prowl though!

btw was there ever a Lord Straxus toy? I don't ever remember seeing one! but maybe there's a custom one kicking about, somewhere! who knows
+ what on earth did he transform into? coz we never saw that, in the movie

Not as such, but we did get Darkmount in Generations, which is based on the IDW comics universe version of Straxus.
In the comic he turned into a big wheeled flying space cannon. Darkmount turns into a futuristic tank.

i've yet to see G1 Mastepiece Cassettes! like Ravage or Lazerbeak or even Buzzsaw + the Cassettes could be the same size as a real cassette.

Masterpiece Cassettes are coming, alongside Masterpiece Soundwave. Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ravage, Rumble, and Frenzy. One comes with him, and the other four come either as a set, or in two twopacks (Dunno which) Also, I think you've sort of misunderstood the subject of this thread. This is a wishlist thread for toys that Hasbro or Takara had planned, but for some reason or another had never released. Not toys that are still upcoming (Hardshell, MP Cassettes), or toys that are just fan wishes (Classics Dinobots) Animated Thundercracker, Animated Fugative Wasp, Halloween Horrorcons, Universe 1.0 Battle in a Box Smokescreen vs Drench. Titanium Cosmos
I want this toy for two reasons:
1. It's a high-quality mould of a much maligned character. The Legends toy may fit with his mini-bot origins, but it doesn't realise the character's full potential - he's a sentient ship capable of carrying an invading army across interstellar space. To my mind, Cosmos should be the Autobot's Astrotrain, but instead he's a joke in a non-canon crossover comic.
2. On a personal level, I missed out on owning the original toy to win an argument with my father when I was six. I can clearly remember looking at rows of TF figures in Woolworths and asking my Dad to buy Cosmos. He complained that I always wanted toys so, to prove him wrong, I decided to put it back on the shelf. I congratulated myself on winning the argument, but in retrospect I was the one who lost. I'm surprised I didn't turn into an axe murderer, as a result of this event during my childhood.

oh I also wouldn't mind seeing more WST's getting released like G1 Blitzwing, Quickswitch, Octane, Broadside, Metroplex, Trypticon, Scorponok, Omega Supreme ect, but seeing as Justitoys are giving up on WST's then it's highly unlikely that we'll ever see those
also more Kabaya, like the new Metroplex, G1 Trypticon, Omega Supreme, Scorponok "even though there's been one before, but it's rare nowadays & could do with a rerelease", Beast Hunters figures ect.

The thread is more about cancelled toys that did not get released but are known about, like Animated Fugative Wasp, Beast Wars Neo Unicron, DotM Wheeljack, the G1 Double Pretenders, and such.
