Finally, this week it feels like some warm springlike weather has arrived. It is so nice. If this keeps up for the weekend I may well decamp to the coast for a day or head off into the deepest, darkest Central Belt for a bit.
Been keeping up with my planned airshows for this year - Cosford is still playing things fairly close to its chest, but (operational deployments allowing) Fairford looks to be offering a few things I haven't seen in the metal - a V-22 Osprey from the USMC in both the static and flying displays for one. Not seen a tiltrotor in real-life before, something to look forward to.

Woo! An Osprey is what Movie Incinerator/BM Obsidian is?

Movie Incinerator is indeed a V-22 Osprey. (making it another in the long line of "there really aren't that many of those yet, maybe you should have picked something actually common and unremarkable" disguises used by Movie-verse Decepticons. Maybe Starscream was in charge of most folks alt-modes or something..)
Obsidian is another tilt-rotor design, but he seems to be a lot smaller - looking like he is scaled more on the size of a single/dual crew gunship sort of thing. But he is definitely the same general kind of aircraft, yup.

To be fair, most people (ie. me) just looked at that and thought: "Helicopter!".

I only know the Starscream in the movies is an 'F-22' because Karl told me. I have no idea what that means though.

Work is kicking my ass, I have been in the office late all this week and there is still too much to do, and people are still moaning stuff hasn't been done and giving me more to do.
God bless you NHS restructure. "Lets get rid of half the staff and double the workload" indeed

The week has ended and it hasn't ended on too bad a note. I had my annual appraisal and it went reasonably well. I spent the evening at the cinema and then dondered home to have a glass of wine (won from the Christmas draw at work but not opened until now). Not too bad a way to end the week at all really.
My plan for the weekend was to go to the sea tomorrow, but where I was planning to head to is forecast to be foggy and then cloudy. I think I might consider heading through to Stirling, and possibly on to Alloa, the only place I have lived that I have not revisited since I left. Don't expect I will spend very long there - there wasn't much to hold me there when I lived there. But it is where the trajectory to my current job began so perhaps worth a revisit at this point in my life.

I defy you, British Summer Time! This hour is mine - it belongs to me and I shall defend it to the last!
Spent this morning back in a place that I used to live. Now that they have reopened the rail link between Stirling and Alloa I thought I would go back and have a look at the place. Hmm. There has definitely been a lot of "regeneration" that has gone on, new railway station, giant new Asda next door to it, lots of new build flats, but I am not sure it has done anything to change the tenor and atmosphere of the place. It still feels a little bit hollow and hopeless. I'd not thought I would say this, but I am much happier living on Planet Falkirk than back on Planet Alloa.
Did go for a wander up the hill to walk past my mothers old house. The front garden is still much as it was when the TV people remodeled it for her, and the house in general looks much the same (something that is not the case with our old house just outside Stirling).
I've now completed the revisitation of places that I have lived that I started a few years ago. It has been interesting to go back and see them through different eyes, see what still feels the same and what I don't relate to in the same way anymore.

Very interesting, Karlos. I did something similar a few years back and went back to where I used to live in Norfolk when I was a child. It was funny remembering things from such a different perspective. As luck would have it, our old house was up for sale, and I was able to have a look round! And predictably everything seemed so much smaller!

I made such a visit to my childhood home earlier this year - it was horrible!
The front garden, including beautiful blossom tree and rosebushes, low slightly wonky wall and driveway with its mix of lawn and crazy paving had all been taken out and paved over with those pink-ish brick-like things so that the whole thing could be used for parking. A big metal fence had been put at the side (presumably round the back garden too) and there was a CCTV camera mounted where the basketball hoop used to be.
In short, it was like Back to the Future II.
