Whenever I think "iconic Marvel UK covers" Alan Davis' #100 wrap-around is always first to spring to mind: tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:Marvel_UK_100.JPGIt just doesn't get any better than that for me! It's the classic characters engaged in dynamic battle, beautifully rendered. I would love a big poster of it.

Neither is that bad I'll grant you.
On the 1985 piece aren't Slag's face, Snarl's chest and Barrage the wrong colour too?
I do love the scale of Max in the 1987 piece. I'm quite fond of the 88 one with Powermaster Optimus too

Although I'd already seen the box back art - which very much caught my attention - the UK ish 1 cover art remains absolutely iconic to me. If you say Transformers in a comics context to me then it is fair to say that about seven times out of ten that is the first image that comes to mind.
Is it technically the best executed piece of Transformers art... I couldn't say that it is, but the image is so iconic for me that it is incredibly strongly associated with the idea of Transformers that it almost stands apart from judgement.

The cover for UK #42, as that is what grabbed my eye and introduced me to Transformers specifically (other than those toys I was vaguely aware of).

The cover for US 12, UK 39 for me is probably the most iconic piece of Transformers art for me.
The cover from UK issue 1 is indeed tops though, a shame that Jerry Paris didn't draw more TF.

Collected Comics 3 for me. Almost any panel or page is beautiful but the cover blows me away. I cant remember which but I really like at least one of the individual covers too from Man of Iron it really worked with the layout the covers used at that time.
The other would be 302? The Christmas Carol one with Dreadwind. It's a great piece of art in of itself, but I just love it for focusing on the internal world the comic it had developed rather than any of the ongoing comics inside.

Generally, I think the best cover art overall in art terms is the run from late #200's until the end.

I've always liked all the original box art (battle scenes up to '89) and character art on the front. In my view, the character art was sometimes a little too good for the toy inside the box.
Issue 2 (CC3?) with Jazz & co emerging from the shuttle as the children look on is also a fave as well as the late UK one with Scorponoks death and the way you can see Prime is shouting out to the heavens even though he doesn't have a mouth.

Galvatron riding Ultra Magnus from issue #86. My vote.
