Apparently, only a third of the people eligible to vote voted. Could you? Did you? I did - I always vote, because I know the supporters of the extreme parties always do, though I wasn't sure who to support this time. I didn't cast all three of my votes for the same party. None of the prospective councillors I voted for was Conservative. Results here.Labour are sweeping the board across England and Wales... but will London tell a different story when its results come in? Martin

Apparently, only a third of the people eligible to vote voted. Could you? Did you? I didn't vote I'm afraid, I wasn't feeling well enough to get out to the polling station when it came down to it. Results aren't in for this area so far, but I'd be surprised if Falkirk Council didn't remain Labour controlled as it has done since time immemorial. Karl

I voted! Doesn't take too much energy to do.

I didn't. Faced with a choice between the current crooks, the previous crooks and the idiots that put/help the current crooks in power I declined to exercise my right.

Despite not having any sort of contact from any of my prospective candidates (seriously, not even one poxy leaflet) I did take the time to vote.
In due deference to my disgust for the ruling three I voted Green. And then spent the rest of the evening hoping they weren't another BNP styled affair.

I voted green as well, with bonus points to anyone who wasn't with the big parties. In hindsight, the "Glasgow First" party sounds a bit dodgy. Not that it matters because our area has been a safe labour seat since WW2 and they always get at least 2/3 of the votes. Maybe my green vote will have an impact in a marginal seat somewhere else.

Didn't vote, didn't know they were happening. Usually do though!
For those complaining about politicians and the system in this country, heaven forbid people should get involved themselves at least at a local level with politics. The option is there for everyone.

I had no idea there was an election on until I heard about results coming in. To be fair, Real Life has distracted me mightily of late.

As is traditional I see that Labour and the SNP have basically divided Falkirk Council between them, with everyone else wondering why they bothered turning up. So, no change from the status quo then.
Not sure who I would have voted for if I had been well enough. My usual lot have lost my alleigance due to the party at national level having decided power overrides principles, and at a local level had a campaign leaflet (the only thing which even suggested that there was an election. They appear to have abandoned local hustings, advertising campaigns, even cheap signs for lamposts for the local elections around here) which seemed to boil down to "We are not Labour. We are not Labour. Vote for us because we are not the Labour Party."
Telling me what you don't stand for is not really very illuminating in telling me what you do stand for.
