Enjoyed it too. Norton was quite entertaining. The UK song was dull, but at least it wasn't bad in the way the last few years have been.

I think Norton was a worthy successor to Wogan, entertaining and gently sarcastic. We did well to come fifth! Mind you, I think they changed the way the voting counts this year, so it's more about the music and less about what one country reads about another in the tabloids.

Scandinavia now holds the two highest scores in the contest. First it was Finland in 2006 and now Norway. What next? Sweden blitzing the opposition next year?

For the first time ever, I did not stay in to watch Eurovision. I just can't stand Graham Norton and avoid his programmes like the plague. Nowt personal, his presenting style just rubs me up the wrong way!

I was considering not watching it because I'm also not too fond of Norton's presenting style but he seemed to drop his more well known style and go for a more Terry Wogan-ish style for the contest.

Europe's premier comedy event of the year The Eurovision Song Contest is on tonight. I'll be watching it along with a few beers. Is anybody else here going to watch it also?
Interestingly, the radio station that plays at my workplace announced that, according to some bookies the UK entry is a 150/1 outsider to win the contest tonight. It doesn't look good for blighty ... again!

I thought the silliest entry this year (you get at least one every year) was the Spanish entry but then they also had a silly entry either last year or the year before. I quite liked the Belarus song but was shocked that hardly anybody voted for it. The UK entry however deserved to finish last. Last year they got Andrew Lloyd Webber to write a song that got us many votes but this year they got rid of him in favour of Pete Waterman who not only chose a singer who was more renowned for his looks than his talent but also he gave him a song that sounded like an old Jason Donovan b-side from the 80's! This was the UK's worst showing in the contest since Gemini about eight or nine years ago and maybe it will convince the people who choose the UK entry to bring back Lloyd Webber for next year.
The other entries from a few catchy rock songs to the standard slow ballads. France entered a song that a cross between Peter Andre and the Lambada while Germany came up with a song that I knew was going to win when I first heard a bit of it played in the Semi Finals earlier in the week. I'll have to check up but I think that this is the first time that Germany has won the contest since 1982.

I might consider getting both. I enjoyed the 2006 contest so much that I brought both the CD and DVD when they were first released but the following three contests did nothing for me so I didn't bother getting either the CD or DVD for those ones. The 2010 one is different however and there were a few songs I liked on it.

I just worked out why I love Eurovision. It's like watching a so rubbish film with an excellent commentary track on thats informative while taking the piss.

This year's event was the first one I have ever missed, due to being chickenpoxed. Even though I have heard it was under-par, I am still sad.

Grannies were not unexpected for this kind of thing. The Batmen were more original.

That was the first UK entry I have liked for so long, possibly ever. Guess it depends on if I really like Gina G or just feel nostalgic for the 90s when I hear it.
Is it my imagination or is the standard of the entries improving?

Hmmmm.
Not overwhelmed by this choice. We had the nostalgia act already with Humperdinck and it tanked. Can't see BT doing much better.
I was hoping for camp.

As did I and you are right.
Also being so early in the running order didn't help him.
That and being the UK entry.
