Could the story play out with Shockwave like it did with the Fallen?
That we are told the stuff they are filming is the end with Shockers on a pole - but look at the 2nd film, the new bad guy in big battle & get taken out. So is this a good bye Shockwave time?

Trailer's not too bad there.
Good to see the other Autobots are maintaining their usual cunning disguise of rare, high-end sports cars!

Decided to veiw a few spoilery things this time around. Very pleased with the pledged decline in 'goof' humour. Freakin' ruined the second film, frankly.
Extreamly excited about the trailer.
Shockwave is no car, hope he's in it though.
NOT SEEING ANY FREAKIN' AUTOBOT POLICE CARS, MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The footage of those 3 cars & Bumblebee following them - they dont seem to be Decepticons cos Bumblebee is driving behind them normally not chasing them - does n't look like a chase

Martin- I suspect they will have names we've heard before, but will be completely new and unrelated characters.

For example, they'd never turn a brilliant scientist like Skids into a stupid goofy mother*%&$%^£annoying character!

Character names appear randomly assigned with these movies and any relation to previous iterations is often slight or none at all. Which is why I guffaw when, say, a red car appears on set and a thousand fanboys scream: "THAT MUST BE HOT ROD!"

Spoliers - just going by new title & list of character we know of now - but not locations filmed at. also the titles of the 3 books.
The Wreckers turn up as a commando squad hunting down remain cons on Earth, but they are lead by Shockwave, then reveals himself to be a con & is clearing the way for an invasion.

Just looking at screen grabs from the traler - would be good if that crashed ship was Shockwave - for a big action scene when he becomes active.
What does Spielberg do on the films - apart from what it seems to be nothing.

Big feature on Transformers 3 in this month's empire magazine, with a big character reveal on the cover. Lots of Bay slagging off ROTF too which I found a bit much, I mean, the post production on these movies is huge, at some point during the year editing he would have realised he didn't like it.

Probably, but the issue was the release date was locked in. He was still doing telecine stuff the day of the premiere.

Yeah, definitely the over riding principle about ROTF seems to be they had to have a story done before the writer's strike and thus started prepping the film on like a three page outline. But even with that if Bay now feels that aspects like the comedy relief characters didn't work then he should have altered that in the edit.

It would be difficult, given the costs involved and we've no idea what other shots there were to use. The thing is, the outline was probably enough. It's the script that was then turned in, should have been edited but obviously wasn't. By the time the shots were in it was too late to fix things.

Creators selling new stuff off the back of saying how crap their last thing was has never seemed a good sales tactic to me. Sometimes it's better to shush about things for a while!

Going by some of the behind the scenes features on the DVD, I'm amazed ROTF turned out as coherently as it did!
And, sadly, it showed just what a cash-maker it was thought as by the studios who weren't bothered at all by the writer's strike... they just seemed to interested in the Independence Day (the day, not the movie) release date and nothing else.
Michael Bay sure can put up with an immense amount of pressure!!

Say what you like about Bay though, whilst ROTF was a crap film, it still was insanely successful and made a bucketload of money. There are plenty of other films which have had bigger stars and bigger effects budgets which have flopped due to being crap.

Nowt against, Bay. I just get annoyed when anyone puts out a new thing and bangs on about how shit their last thing was. He's not unique in that regard.

I had no problem with Michael Bay saying that he didn't think the previous Transformers film had turned out as he would have hoped and he was sorry that it had worked out like that. But once that was said a few times it was time to move on. Continually bringing it up is unwise and sounds a little too much like special pleading. Sometimes the best thing to do is to move forwards instead of looking back.

How much more have they got to do?
Finished the actor filming & just doing some link scene filming now They finished with the voice actors - but just finishing the CGI? Have they had problems with the computers like with ROTF? Could we see the scenes in the trailers reworked & sharper for the final film release?
