Hehe!
I am sure the fact that "Jennifer's Body" tanked at the cinemas in the USA will remind us all that men go to see Transformers for the robot action, not Megan Fox.
And, based on the financial success of the first two Transformers films, I doubt the formula of No 3 will change.
But I still maintain my Third in a Series theory that Optimus Prime will go "evil"/reprogrammed somehow in line with the plots of many other Third in a Series films.

Somebody needs to invent a reliable way of showing sarcasm on internet forums, so that I can write an appropriate response to this news.
From Bay's post, it appears that Orci and Kurtzman are definitely not writing but the third ROTF writer, Kruger, is. (Consider speculation and rumour begun.) It's hard to know what to make of that, not knowing what each contributed to the ROTF script.

Sarcasm has been traditionally flagged by the use of an exclamation point encompassed by brackets.
For example;
That went well (!)
I did wonder about the writers as well since Michael Bay only referred to Ehren Kruger.

From one review I read its seems Kruger was responsible for most of the unpopular elements in the film. It would make sense that the bigger tonal changes were introduced by the new writer.
So that makes me less than excited.
Then again given full control of the script (and seeing feedback on the last one) he might do something new and interesting.
Andy
Edit: After reading it I don't know if that means the other two are out or not. Does a Hasbro visit require all three writers?

I predict it will come out, everyone involved will say it's the best yet, it will get fair reviews (because magazines that invest so heavily in the promotion of something can't ever admit that something is rubbish), it will make loads of money... but there will be something about it that kills the momentum of the franchise and it kind of limps to a halt. (See Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3, the third Matrix film.)

(See Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3, the third Matrix film.) Well, if it went the way of the X-Men franchise we would be on to 'Transformers Origins'. The thing is, they have learnt how to do giant CG robots with big explosions well now, and it will only get cheaper to do as the technology advances. Are they really going to ever say, OK, we don't need any more giant robot blockbusters? And if not, what will they do that will draw bigger audiences than Transformers? Transformers cornered the giant robot market in the west for the last 25 years. It's a bit different from the other comic-book franchises you mentioned in that respect. Martin

Start of with Optimus getting visions ever since he started carrying the Matrix around with him.
Then dark forced from the past - linking in with an evil force that created the Fallen & Decepticons starts to effect the Matrix holder [going against everything we where told about the Matrix in the 2nd film]
Primus/Unicron thrown around & another Fallen like character turns up & use Optimus for body upgrades & starts fighting in another city area. end of film when bad guy killed.

As crap as it is that Bay has got it, I'm more concerned that the twat has got hold of Nightmare on Elm street. What is going on with Freddy's voice? Between that and the Halloween 're-imaginings', most horror fans must be hoping for an outbreak of some rapid flesh-eating virus in Hollywoodland. So, Transformers 3, eh? Mystic Mark predicts the following: Late next year: - A high-octane trailer that will leave us thinking "Ooo, maybe this one will be better" Then, in the film itself: - Optimus Prime still sounding like he has a headcold - Megan Fox still looking like she needs a wash - Shia TheBeef making you want to punch him every time he does that 'startled gopher' expression, which is often - A Transformer literally taking a shit on screen - The film stopping half-way through for a US Army recruitment advert - Shockwave, hyped out of all proportion to his rather lame and swift death - Dinobots, hyped out of all proportion to the 3 minutes of screentime they'll get - Another fucking aircraft carrier montage - ANOTHER FUCKING LINKIN PARK SONG - A crushing sense of violation and loss upon leaving the cinema PLACE BETS NOW! - A crushing sense of violation and loss upon leaving the cinema I must say I think that anyone who felt that way with the first two films (i.e. not me) and still goes to see the third only has themselves to blame for the consequences. I never give franchises that disappoint me twice in a row (as the Spider-Man franchise did) a third chance. Martin

Fair point. I did not enjoy the first two Spider-Man films so passed on going to see the third.

Between that and the Halloween 're-imaginings', most horror fans must be hoping for an outbreak of some rapid flesh-eating virus in Hollywoodland. And there's going to be a Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. Which isn't a sequel, it's another remake. Of a film remade this decade.

That clip saying "this is what Transformers 3 is like" is just clips from TF ROTF. Bumblebee driving out of the garage, & the fight at the start of the film. So that must just mean that its the same computer models they are using. Nothing extra - maybe new characters.
