With Spider-Man 4 getting canned and the franchise being rebooted (already!)... what would be the likelihood of a possible Transformers 4 being a reboot?
It's only been three/four years since Spider-Man 3, which isn't very long at all for a reboot. At least Batman and Superman took 10+ years!
So, does this mean "Hollywood" is becoming increasingly less patient when it comes to wiping the slates of their money-spinners?
Any thoughts?

Nope - Transformers vs GI Joe! Andy Hasbro would love that - they could finally do the combined Joe-Transformers toyline they've always wanted!

I too could only imagine the utter awesomeness of a live action TF and Joe movie!
I'd be up for a reboot. Try something totally different. Completely G1ick, completely reimagined (ie changing the Transformers origins entirely), or, dare I say it, Beast Wars (!!!!!). And, naturally, launch Mr. Bay far off into the helosphere where he can't have any influence whatsoever.
Reboots do appear to be on the rise, The Hulk is another example, and there's word of rebooting the Fantastic Four.

After Transformers ROTF .... I would definitely be up for a re-boot.
All the more's a pity since the first film was really well done IMO.
But ROTF was just so epically horrible - and its' horror grows with each passing day... I own the DVD and watch it when I want to turn my brain off.
I guess they don't need a reboot really...
What they need is a good story.
A good story that goes beyond "alien robots come to earth - what would happen?" (aka the first film)
