What Boo Boos, ie purchasing errors, have you made when buying Transformers? Or any toy/model for that matter?
A good one from me was when the Classics Skywarp/ Ultra Magnus 'Battle for Autobot City' or what ever it was called pack was released, I instantly paid somat like 45 squid for one on line. A few months later, they were EVERY-GODDAMN-WHERE for half the price. Bum-holes!

A few months later, they were EVERY-GODDAMN-WHERE for half the price. Bum-holes! Ian. Never made anything I'd consider a huge mistake when buying Transformers to be honest. Except possibly buying Armada Prime, but that was more a case of relying on photographic intelligence when I wasn't able to see the thing for myself. I do regret the money I spent on it at the time but it was a learning experience. The only other one wasn't so much a mistake as a comedy of errors. I ended up worth two 1/48th VF-1S Valkyrie's (the Roy Focker version) despite my best efforts to buy only one. I spent over a week trying to cancel a pre-order at HLJ for it - first their server went down over a bank holiday, then it was up for an hour or so before going down again due to technical difficulties, then three days later they took it down for routine maintenance, and then a few days after that when I could finally get access to my account the -1S was already preparing for shipping and it was too late to cancel. BY the time they had shipped it the one I had ordered from Action-HQ (along with a set of FASTpacks for less than HLJ was charging for the -1S alone) had been with me for over a week.... That's probably my most absurd experience with purchasing mecha. Karl

The Star Convoy re-issue upset me. Long had I wished for one. Then, after it arrived, I opened the box and found it was utterly shit. It went straight back in the box and into the cupboard of doom, never to be played with again until it went on ebay a year later. Micromaster Rodders was cool though, but rather expensive considering it came with a heap of shit I never played with!

Buying the entire first wave of Galaxy Force from HLJ as soon as it was released. It was all shipped in one box costing a fortune in postage, a fivetune in customs, a £14 clearance fee AND I had to carry the damn thing back from No Man's Land (aka the vast swathe of derelict, madly expensive land just outside Glasgow city centre where the Parcelforce doom fortress is located) about a mile to the nearest bus stop with a full bladder. Just to put the tin hat on it, half the first wave of Galaxy Force is actually not that great and I regretted buying more than one of the figures I ended up paying nearly double the RRP for.

I recall sharing Nick's pain as we went through his big box of Galaxy Force. A lot of it was shit.

My biggest upset was when I brought a cheap third-rate transforming robot from Poundstretcher a few years ago. It wasn't an official Transformer and it showed when I transformedit. The car body was all die-cast metal and this made it a bugger to transform it. When I did manage to transform it the monstrosity had the car bonnet sticking a mile out on its chest and it just looked generally cheap and tacky. I quickly transformed it back into car mode, put it back in its box and chucked it under my bed where its been for about three years now.
