It does seem they only like using Megatron in robot mode in the films.
First film we saw him about twice in 2 jet mode - going out dam & when attacking Optimus.
ROTF - tank mode about once?
So don't expect to see hime more than once in the 3rd movie in his "lets give him a new mode so we can get everybody to buy more toys while we just colour Bumblebee different from the first 2 films" new toy.
