A text from G tells me that the UK Classics trades from IDW are coming to iBooks on 22nd August.
Do I need to buy these again?

Seems unlikely I'd grab digital copies as well but it's good that they're going to be there for potential buyers. There's some IDW stuff on the Kindle store, so that could be a possibility too.

Andu has now explained to me what Ibooks is, so I am doomed to purchase these tomes yet again.

I'll stick with the paper copies. Going by the preview on Comixology, the strips look tiny and hard to read on the screen.
