See if you can spot the amusing typo on this Facebook post:
'BotCon registration is now back online for existing members. You can go to BotCon.con and click on register. Registration will be available until Friday, April 13th so please take your time.
Here are a couple of notes:
You need to use your email and password that were set up in the Transformers Store for you. The retrieval function at BotCon will not give you the correct information as it is not connected to the store. Please use the retrieval function at the store to get your password. On Monday we will have the ability in the store to sign up for new memberships. IF YOU CHOOSE TO REGISTER AS A NON-MEMBER WE CANNOT ADJUST THE PRICING so please wait. If you have any problems, please email us as we will take care of your concerns or problems. We have also implemented additional security as you can see by the reCAPTCHA utility that you must solve before you log in. This is for everyone's security.
Thanks again for your support during these rough times!
Happy Easter!
Brian'

From the same source. Presented without comment:
'Transformers Collectors' Club (Official) shared a link. 2 April (Just in case you didn't receive the email)
Hello all!
This is coming from our new store software to all active members. We have been transferring and cleaning up data in order to use our new system. We want to have one more set of eyes to look at your addresses, and that's you!
Please go to this link and log in using the email address this email came to, and your old club password (unless you have changed it in the new store).
As we continue to bring up new systems and software, this will remain your membership log in and password. You may change either at anytime by logging in. However, each membership you have must have a unique email address, as that will be your log in from here forward. If you don't know your password, use the retrieval link and then log in and change it.
After you log in, please check all of the tabs and make sure your information is accurate. You will have until Tuesday at 5 pm central time to make any changes to your address (es). After that time we will lock the files and create the mailing lists for this year's membership figure and your April issue. Your April issue will run about 2 weeks late. Next month, we should be back on our regular schedule.
We have limited the access in this first implementation of the club store. There are still some issues we have to work out this week before we put product in. We want to make sure all of the data is correct before we move forward.
If you have more than one membership and have trouble getting into your second account or if you have accounts in both clubs, please contact customer service and we will assist you. It is more efficient for you to email us. Don't reply to this email; use the links on the bottom of all of our pages.
In addition, approximately 150 of you will expire this next week (check your Bill Date in your profile). The new system automatically renews you on your billing anniversary provided you have a valid credit card on file. If you don't want to leave it on file, you can come back after it is billed (you can see the charge in your account) and delete it.
Thanks for your support and help!
Brian'
'Primul Archangel I think you are going to have some bad backlash from a lot of those 150 people you mention whos memberships are about to auto renew on them.. You should not be applying this to people that joined before all your updates were done with the new system and before you started the auto renew. The auto renew should only apply to those that just joined or just renewed. 2 April at 20:53'
'Transformers Collectors' Club (Official) @primul - The auto-renew is a function of the new software. It doesn't reflect a policy change. 3 April at 15:54'

My membership was due for renewal last week. I haven't decided yet whether I am actually going to renew or not. I'm now getting daily emails:
The invoice for your Transformers or G.I. Joe Club membership is due, but we have been unable to process it because the credit card associated with your subscription was declined.
Here is the specific reason for the declined transaction: Credit card number is required. (ID: 33)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRODUCTS IN THIS ORDER: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 unit(s) of Transformers Club Membership (International Only) at $82.00
Don't let your membership lapse! If not updated, your membership has been cancelled until the issue can be corrected.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE BILLING INFO SECURELY ONLINE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You may also securely update your Collectors' Club billing info in the "My Account" area on our website at:
GI Joe Transformers
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION ON THIS MATTER! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you update your account information, you should be all done! Our billing system will automatically apply the new credit card information for to future invoices.
REMINDER: Club support staff will NEVER ask you for your account login name or password! (We already have this information on file.) Do not provide this information to anyone!
If you have any problems or questions about the above, please contact us. Thank you for your time!

That's... nice that they're trying to charge your credit card despite you not renewing...

That's... nice that they're trying to charge your credit card despite you not renewing... Yes, when they announced the new security, new credit card processing company, and brought the store back online, they also announced that renewals will be automated, and the only way to stop this is to remove your credit card information. There's not even an opt-out. I think I even commented on how low this was, on this board.

Some websites do have auto- renewing subs which have to be manually turned off, but is explained in terms and conditions when you sign up. However, this is a clear breach of the terms and conditions members previously signed up for. I imagine members who are 'auto renewed' may have a case for being defrauded and could demand their money back.

Somewhere amongst the sprawling emails they have been sending out to current members it does say they have not transferred credit card information from the old site/store so if you haven't used the card on the new store there is no card on file to auto renew at least think thats the case.
However sending out emails telling people they are going to be auto-renewed does not seem a good idea as it will only cause undue stress and annoyance to people. Leaving the auto renew on the new store just seem dumb anyway, after what has happened, if I were FP I think the last thing I would want is members knowing they are storing credit card information again.

Bogatan, could you confirm for me how much my order comes to. I haven't heard back from you via PM, so I wasn't sure if your message box was full up or something

The Club Store has been taken offline for a few days because the new host can't cope with the bandwidth demands....
