A team has been remaking the original Half-life (with a few minor alterations to keep it interesting) in the Half-life 2 Source engine. They've been at it for eight long years, and believe it or not- it's finally finished. You can download it here. Still no sign of Half-life 2 Episode 3, so this ought to tide HL2 fans over for a while. -Nick |

It is a pity that I don't have a computer in the house that is capable of running HL2. (My HL2 experience was on the 360 as a result). If I did I have no doubt that I would be all over this, seeing as I got more enjoyment from the original Half-Life (on a narrative level) than I did from HL2 by a long way.
(And, for the record, I believe in the existence of HL2:Episode 3 even less than I do the tooth fairy....)

I haven't actually finished HL2: Ep 2 yet. I purchased it ages ago and then within the last week realised I hadn't actually played it. Started now though.
This looks very impressive and I'm sure I'll give it ago at some point, but I also haven't played through the original game fully yet, so I think I'll do that before trying the remake.
