Couldn't really think of a title for this thread. But can be changed later on.
But looking at the UK comic i noticed one thing that would surprise you when you look back at it.
Back in 87/88 the Throttlebots where nearly in every issue. [or it felt like it]
But ...
Simon Furman only used them for one story only. #137,138. Never used them again.
How did Ravage get back to Earth? Was on Cybertron #244 then with Shockwave on Earth #308. Think we must have a fanzine here unless someone has already covered it.

I imagine the lack of use of Throttlebots was precisely because they were being used so much in the US comic. It's easier to use characters who aren't being used by someone else at the same time, there's less chance of contradicting those stories!

Yea, because Goldbug might've ended up with 2 completely different origins.
No wait!

Yea, because Goldbug might've ended up with 2 completely different origins. No wait! Well yes but that was purely because the UK didn't get the GI Joe/Transformer crossover! ...and then we did.

But the Gijoe cross over does fit with the US - unless you just take it that part of it happens then you go back to the series then back to the cross over.

Yes but what I mean is that it wasn't printed in the UK comic at the time, so they needed a separate explanation for Goldbug to print in the UK comic, otherwise he'd have magically transformed.

It isn't so much that there are two explanations at the same time... it is more that there are two valid explanations and which one is true depends on where and when you are asking the question. It is sort of like a Schroedinger's Origin....

I think the main reason why Simon only used the Throttlebots just once was to explain the start of the next US issue where somehow the Combaticons where attacking them. So Simon set up a story where the teams had met. But I always expected an annual story featuring them. They just feel like an annual story team.

Simon has stated he looked for gaps and characters he could use without contradicting the main US title.
It arguably led to some of his best works, but then absolute freedom creatively sometimes leads to missteps.

That's what made Simon work even greater with how everything slotted in.
I think Ravage must have come to Earth with the Ait strike patrol & then been off on a mission - but what could he have been doing? Did he contact Soundwave?

I'd like to think he went right back to hunting Robot-Master.

This'll make a great quiz question. Which character shot which of the Decepticon trio in #214. The 3 Triggercons shot them but I'd have to look to see which shot each or if it was a multi shot.
