I've got a 2-disc version of it on CD that a brought a few years ago but I don't know what version it is. There was also a version of the stage show filmed about seven or eight years ago which Sky Movies Indie occasionally shows and that is very good.

It's almost scary how easily I can imagine Neeson speaking those immortal opening lines. I am curious to hear it, too.

I hope Liam Neeson punches the Martians until they die. None of this 'they caught a cold' nonsense this time I hope!

My flatmate bought me this as a surprise yesterday! Will hopefully be able to sit down with it properly over the Christmas holidays.

This thread has inspired me to break out the previous CD release and stick it on.
I am sitting here listening to Track 3 "The Artilleryman and the Fighting Machine" at this moment. It reminds me of one of the things that I always think this version gets across better than pretty much any other media version. There is a really nice little riff for the fighting machines that underlines the fact that they are faster than seems possible for their size. Too often film versions give us quite sedate, ponderous Fighting Machines - but I always took from the book a sense of them being fast as well as big.

I got the track preview function thing to work on the dreaded Itunes for the new version and thought: "No, no. You're alright. I'll pass."

I've still not heard the new version. I adore the original. I sing it to myself all the time on my way to and from work!

Must be one of the last runs before they re-did it with Liam Neeson (the version I saw in London a few years back).

I saw this live I think on its original run. Possibly Wembley Arena. Mrs P hasn't seen it though, so we're going to see the latest iteration in Brighton next month.

I saw it in the Dominion Theatre in the West End, circa 2016. Still got the nice shiny holofoil programme.
