I think they produced them in reasonable numbers but no bugger wants them because they're over priced and look like a KO. Megatron, fair enough for safety reasons, but they could have done better than that. Prime is ridiculous with the clear blue truck sides. Was a much better one in a AOE 2 pack that The Entertaineer had and some stores still haven't shifted them for £15! Kapow want £30 for it and it's still not selling www.kapowtoys.co.uk/transformers-platinum-optimus-vs-megatron-2-pack.htmlIf it was the United Megatron and Cloud Optimus then yeah I could accept 2 x Voyager retail + a little premium, so £60. But for a substandard deco? No. And as for the £100, which is what TRU wanted .... f*** the f*** off! Price gorging at it's worst. |

The platinum line is really all over the place. I do think Megatron probably looks as good as they could likely get away with, but it would have made more sense to my mind at least to go as extreme as they did with Astrotrain and do Megatrons unused G2 deco and a genericish G2 Pime like they did with RTS Jazz.

Great price. Wow, that's a good set for that price. I thought I was going well getting it for £80.
But then I flipped it to part pay for Megatronia. I like the Tron-esque colours more.

I don't much care about Victorion, but I like the individual robots a bit and the hands and feet might work well on Magnaboss or Superion

That's an interesting price given what we expect these days. These were originally mooted for TRU weren't they? is this a Hasbro "We've got loads of these, TRU have changed their mind so who can we offload them onto?" thing? Put that in a decent sale and it'd be almost tempting for the Scrounge.
