... except you would admit as we're all friends and would never ever tease!
I have started this thread as inspired by Ralph's admission of owning a Vengaboys album.
I'll start. I have no shame.
I will admit to owning Jason Donovan's "Too Many Broken Hearts" on 7" vinyl*.
*Vinyl was like a black plastic disc with one long "groove" etched in a spiral and when a needle was put "on it" it somehow played music. A 7" or "single" was usually played at 45 RPM.
RPM does not equate to today's KBPS.

I had Slam Jam too but not the Wrestlmania follow up single. An instrumental version is still used today as Linda McMahon's entrance theme. Max 'Konnan' Moon's appearance in that video was amusing ===KEN

I had that Super Mario Land single and also picked up 'I'll Be Back' by Arnie and The Terminators! ... on 7" vinyl*. *Vinyl was like a black plastic disc with one long "groove" etched in a spiral and when a needle was put "on it" it somehow played music. A 7" or "single" was usually played at 45 RPM. RPM does not equate to today's KBPS. Haha. I buy 7" singles nowadays. I'm odd like that.

I bought one of the songs from Disney's Aladin when I was about 11 or 12. I also had 'Come on you Reds' by Man Utd, but that got to number 1, so I wasn't alone.
My real secret is that I bought the Toploader album. My ony defence is that I bought it before I'd ever heard of Dancing in the moonlight.

I am the master of dodgy music. I have a great many embarrassing 80's songs on my iPod and also have a load of cassette singles from the mid to late 90's stashed away. The first single I brought was one such 'classic' - that of Cotton Eye Joe by Rednex. I then went on to buy the follow-up single and also all of the Spice Girls, B*witched and Steps singles as well as a great many other ones from that period!

Anyone remember a 'band' called, I think, Crush? They were two girls from Biker Grove. For some reason I have their (I think one and only) single, called something like Jelly, or Jelly Head, or Head Jelly. There's jelly in there. I must stress that I don't remember buying it, so I'm convincing myself an old girl friend left it.

Shockwave would disapprove of this thread as logically there shouldn't be any posts in it.
However I will offer up Bryan Adams. Had a few of his albums and liked him a lot back in the 90's, even went to see him live. Absolutely can't stand anything other than Summer of 69 now and even then that's a guilty pleasure.

I'm afraid to say I not only own Macy Gray's first album but I went to see her live. Although, in my defence, I did take my Mum.

I also bought the Jellyhead CD on the recommendation of a DJ friend. It cost £1.99 and consisted of a white card CD box (no plastic case for you ladies, we've spent the Byker Grove budget on PJ and Duncan) and a paper cover that folded out to form a large-ish poster. I stand tall in the knowledge that the tune is quite catchy if you like mid-90s pseudo-rock.
However, I hang my head in shame to admit that one of my first CD purchases was the Zig & Zag single, Turn on your landing light/Them girls love me. Alanis Morrisette's difficult second album - which I bought on the first day of release - is also a source of pain for me.

At the last school I went to there was an event held once a week at dinnertime where a bloke who ran a record shop in the town threw a load of cassette albums at the kids who turned up. I turned up once and was thrown Kylie Minogue's 'Enjoy Yourself' album. Considering that the album was released in the late 80's and this event at the school happened in 1992-1993 the bloke must have been trying to clear out his bargain bin in his shop! The sad thing is that I listened to the album and actually enjoyed it! What is even more shocking is that I still have the album!

These days Pete Waterman is always trying to ram any kind of shit down our throats but I bet he didn't realise that fifteen years ago some record shop owner was doing it on his behalf.
