Who colouring? The first panel of Shockwave looks like it'll be a great match from Max Dinos.

Oooh, very nice. And I love interaction between Megatron and Shockwave. Not enough of it goes on. When is this out?

Who's the reddish Starscream (or Sunstorm been burnt) & the one left of Megatron on the other side of Viewfinder? I assume that it is indeed Sunstorm, since he was seen on that asteroid previously. The other guy looks like Wingspan or Pounce. *EDIT, Sorry, I think you actually mean Windsweeper. I am aghast that this thread was not titled with "In My Pants".

I've got everyone on Windsweeper's side - it trying to guess the clones when you see them in robot mode.

Next day delivery from Mr Bax! Thankyou Mr Bax!
Spotlight: Megatron. I loved it. The Quadrumphate (that's not a real word!) of the Decepticons cleverly shown in their full glory! Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave and Soundwave. Great to see these characters interact. But as you'd expect it is Megatron who shines most. Once again I find myself wowed more by Mr Roche's writing than his excellent art! It is so easy to think of Megatron as a killing machine, as an instrument of evil, but it's stories like this that remind you he's a genious as well. How else could one form and run the revolutionary movement such as the Decepticons?! In my opinion, if you're trade is 'writer', it's easy to write a hero like Optimus, it's easy to write a traitor like Starscream, and it's easy to write evil like Megatron. But Megatron is not just evil- he's clever evil. He's the mastermind. And that's very hard to write well. But in this story I really found myself propelled into Megatron's evil cleverness, his evil genious. I was effortlessly put into Megatron's head. Great story telling. Who is Megatron? That question is answered in this story. His battle never ends. Even when it's all taken from him, his resovle doesn't skip a beat. That tireless strength to achieve domination is who Megatron is. And this Spotlight helped me realise that.

I enjoyed this a lot and felt it was an excellent character piece on Megatron. Drawn with a lot of energy as well which helped carry the story along.
Did seem a bit after it's time though and like it should've been out at the time of the events rather than now. Still, the writing quality would've shown up the regular series writing of the time to an embarrassing degree (like the Prime/Megatron issues of Chaos theory).

Quite enjoyed this. Strangely for something so heavily tied into the continuity of the previous IDW ongoing TF series I thought it felt more stand-alone than the last two Spotlights. I think that is perhaps because it was so tightly focused on the relationship between Megatron and Starscream. Interesting to see the long-standing fan interpretation of their being somewhat of a psychologically self-harming co-dependent element to the way that Starscream relates to Megatron played up quite so much in official media, and I think it helps to reinforce IDW Megatron's intelligence that he is able to dissect the relationship in such detail.
A decent character piece for both Megatron and - despite him getting few lines and not being in the title - Starscream as well.
(And can I just say that after a long while of idly wondering what on earth that Megatron design is supposed to turn into the sight of him becoming a sort of B2-inspired thing with go-faster stripes did amuse me. Between the unlikely colour and the glow-strips Megatron isn't even pretending he cares that much about the "in disguise" part any more is he?)

You'll be buying the toy then Kaptain? Hmmm. Not sure. I'm not really a fan of the humanoid mode on that one, and he lacks the amusing "Boy Racer" stripes that the comic version gets courtesy of artist and colourist.... I shall see how I feel when he is before me on the peg in the plastic. (Mind you, I do have white paint and a fine brush around here.... I can always fix the stripe issue...) Karl
