Pretty sure that was drawn by Barry Kitson.

Grimlock looks like Kitson art. So was made by Marvel UK - going by the address on one of the pages.

Pretty sure that was drawn by Barry Kitson. Andy That was my thought. How wonderful! Quite a fun wee pack-in comic! -Ralph

It does have some very Kitson traits to the art. Quite like that - it is a good little story which seems just right to fire the imagination of a youngster when he gets his first Transformer. The right length to give him a starting point so he can fire off with his new toy to create new exciting adventures.

I was lucky enough to snag one of these fairly recently from Germany. It's sort of a digest size comic. I haven't seen too many of them around.

I do have a fascination for how different countries put together stories for Transformers, so this is a welcome thing. Also, it's nice to find out new things about TF media when it feels like everything has been found.

I forgot I posted a picture of it over in my Foreign TF comics thread: tmukhub.proboards.com/thread/6970/foreign-transformer-comicsBut here it is again on the far left for anyone who hasn't seen it: This gives you a good idea of its size. The German 'Comic Magazin' issue on the right is about the same size as the standard UK issues.

I asked Simon Furman about it, he didn't write it, but he's sure that it's Kitson artwork too.
So possibly Ian Rimmer as the writer?

I asked Barry Kitson and he's confirmed that the artwork is his, and thinks it may have been written by Alan McKenzie but may be getting that mixed up with another toy promo comic he did around the same time.
