Been on a really big Star Trek kick lately. And I'm unsure if this is cause or effect.
But anyway, this is a big reason why. Been developing a Star Trek RP with my sister. Contemporary with ST: Voyager, it's set aboard the USS Blackwell, a medical ship. Part of this RP cosnists of me drawing up character pics for all our main and secondary cast.
I decided on an "At Ease" pose for everyone, and realized really quickly that it's a great way to show personality differences, given how relaxed one is, and the state of the uniform. Having everyone in the same pose also streamlines the project, and since everyone's basically dressed the same, that only makes it even faster.
So, I have two goals with this project: Draw every primary and secondary character in batches of four (Ambicious for me), and to draw floorplans for all major areas of the ship (Since I suuuuuck at drawing backgrounds, and that's all a set piece drawing is).
So, here's the profile of the ship, and three of the first batch (the fourth needs recoloring due to missunderstanding, and is not ready to be shown):
Special note, these profiles for both the ships and characters are more behind-the-scenes, than intended for public. Some are incomplete (Mostly the characters that belong to sis)

Profile:
Under the command of Captain Parker, the Blackwell is a strong and noble ship, that has served her mission and her crew well. Despite this, she has never participated in any major events, with the exception of rescuing survivors of the battle of Wolf 359. Afterwards, she went back to serving a distinguished, but relatively unremarkable career. Until one day, while answering a distress signal, the Blackwell fell into a trap set by Nausicaan Raiders, who attacked and boarded the ship, killing a number of her crew, and stripping her of medical and engineering supplies. Captain Parker was killed on the bridge, while First Officer Kinsey was critically injured, prompting Lt Commander Meadows to step up. With a trick, he managed to get the nausicaans off the ship, and took the helm, managing to keep the ship functional under heavy fire until rescued by the Klingon Battlecruiser K'T'In.
The K'T'In escorted her to Starbase Epsilon, allowing her the dignity to come in under her own power, while hosting the casualties.
Once back in Federation hands, she was transferred back to Earth for a complete refit, overseen by her chief of Engineering and the newly promoted Captain Meadows.

-Dedication Plaque reads: "Know Thyself"
-Equipped with three specialty configured Danube class Runabouts, the Piece, Hunnycut, and Winchester.
-Equipped with a Romulan Falcon type Starfighter, called The Dragonfly.

Ezma Ki'ton, Lieutenant Commander
Species:
Orion
Gender, Age:
Female, 25
Position and Bridge Station:
Chief of Security, Tactical
Profile:
Always a "Daddy's Girl," Ezma rarely ever got along with her mother and longed for the days she got to see her father. With the poor relationship with her mother, she couldn't wait until she came of age and could join Starfleet. During Starfleet Academy, Ezma soon discovered the abilities bestowed upon all Orion females made her uniquely suited for Security, able to subdue males and calm females without much incident.
Soon after Graduation, she was assigned to the USS Kyushu under the command of Lt Commander Trevor Anderson, becoming a valued member of his "Redshirts;" Elite security taskforce. During the Battle of Wolf 359, she had prepared herself to give it her all, before she was pulled aside by Lt Cmdr Anderson as he placed his infant son into her arms, and shoved the two of them into an escape pod, ejecting them from the ship moments before it was destroyed.
A Datapad left on Chase leaving a message from Lt Cmdr Anderson telling her she was the only one he trusted with his son, and that they had no other family, and to please take care of him. Finding herself a new mother, was the most uncomfortable she had ever been, her own mother not having been very nurturing. Though she soon grew into the roll, and did so very well. Becoming a dedicated mother, she was determined to be everything to him that her own mother was not. When it became time to restaff the Blackwell, she leapt at the chance to join the crew and serve at last with her Father.
Notes:
Daughter of Chief Engineer Cmdr Devron Ki'ton, adoptive mother of Chase Anderson Ki'ton. Survivor of the Battle of Wolf 359, superior officer handed her his infant son, told her to take care of him, and threw them both into an escape pod.

she always travels with her husband, and she keeps what she, and what are secret. They are very…. outgoing yet somehow still private, social yet there is a distance there.

Name and Rank:
Dr. Vosh MD, Commander
Species:
Vulcan/Human
Gender, Age:
Female, Undecided
Position:
Chief Surgeon, Administrator
Profile:
Cool, calm, and confident, there are few who are better surgeons than Vosh. She's been called unshakable. Some have compared her to a robot. She's capable of performing major surgery under extremely stressful situations, and there are few who can perform her new administrative role as effectively as she. Her ability to make on the spot decisions of life or death have lead some to believe she's remorseless, but that couldn't be further from the truth.
The reality is, she has found a way to make peace with the human blood that flows through her. She feels her emotions, and strongly. But instead of having to choose between suppression or embracing them as most half Vulcan must, she's found an almost zen-like balance through Vulcan and klingon meditation techniques. She's taught herself how to feel them without allowing them to impair her judgement. And unlike most Vulcans, she is also completely comfortable around the emotions of others.
Notes:
Has a near encyclopedic knowledge of the biology and anatomy of many, many races. A steady hand, and her ability to not allow stressful or emotional situations effect her makes her an ideal surgeon.

So, as always, comments, opinions, and critiques always welcome.
