I like the fact they're different and not just a direct repaint.

Well I dare say they will be able to repaint Bluestreak in Diaclone colours, and some slight modding to Prowl to get Smokescreen.

It isn't bad at all. I quite like that. Probably more tempted by this than I am with Prowl, but that is probably because I already have a reissue Prowl.

He looks stellar. These guys are about the size of a large deluxe, right?
Y4640 on HLJ. £32.50. Probably closer to £30 by time of release. Not far off the import price of a deluxe figure from Takara. Nnng.

If you're buying both I'd expect about another Y4000 for shipping, which is another 27 quid. CUTA on £60 worth of gear is probably about £15. So two £30 figures would cost about £105 all in, or just over £50 each. Roughly.

MP Sideswipe stands about a head taller than the Universe deluxe mould, but it's misleading as he's much more substantial; I would err on the side of voyager in terms of heft, certainly much more than deluxe. Given that the engineering is also far superior (I was well impressed with Sideswipe's transformation) and that you get a nice reusable box I think paying less than twice the going rate for importing a Generations deluxe from Japan is really quite reasonable.

So hopefully no more than £76 before customs. But Cuta you might be underestimating 20% on 76 will be £15.20 plus fees which I think with Sal is still under £10. But yeah total should be in the £50 range. Bigger than most current voyagers and only fractionally smaller than the voyagers from the first classics line in 2006. And has better articulation and more complex transformation.

On a slight tangent, I can never be bothered with complex transformations. As man and child the magic of Transformers toys for me has always been how in just a few quick twists and turns a robot can change into something completely different. Complex and/or lengthy transformations are no fun at all to me. Hence how I rate the original minibots (for example) as fun and enjoyable toys and MP01 being a a pile of shit I got rid of ASAP. A toy that takes 15 mins to transform would be of no use in young Ralph's bedroom battles!

MP01 is awful; I don't like that either, but what I mean by Sidewsipe's transformation is that it's pleasingly intuitive and clever in the way it gets that robot mode from that car and without panel-alignment nightmares. Comparable to MP Grimlock in that way, but a smidgen more complex.
Compare with MP Rodimus who also has a clever transformation to get a cartoon-accurate robot from the car, but is at the same time a frustrating nightmare requiring both detailed reading of the instructions and having to work out things for yourself. Which is a terrible shame because he looks wonderful.

I love complex transformations, but as a puzzle or a piece of engineering that I enjoy in a different way to what I would consider a fun toy to play with. MP01 is in that bracket as is MP Megs.
On the other hand ROTF leader class Prime falls into the fun category. I admit its a pain in the arse to work out so I can see why it frustates people, it is one of the least intuitive toys I've ever owned, but once you know how it transforms it's very simple and quite quick.
The new MPs fall squarely in to the fun toy category to, there is such a difference from those first MP toys they really should have given them a new subline name.

That almost suggests a blue version is already in the works from somewhere else because I can't see any other reason to pass that over in favour of basically fiddling with the contrast on the first one.

You'd think that wouldn't you? But a similar thing happened with the e-Hobby version of the TFC Bluestreak where they went the other way from solid silver to silver with black bonnet.
