Godsdammit. If I'd not received MP G2 Sideswipe and AoE Evasion Prime in the last week I'd be gnawing my hands off in impatience for these things to arrive. As it is, I think I can last another week. Well, maybe a few days. Well...

Oh look at that! He's the same size as the original! I only had those three out at the weekend for a clean up.
Suppose there's no chance of Bombshell and Kickback being done like this. That would be something special.

Every chance. Hasbro knows how popular these are hence the rerun on the Swerve/Cosmos wave. We've seen Gears and Acid Storm, the next wave (4), plus Cliffjumper from the wave after (5). There's meant to be a Nemesis Prime with Spinister (obvious repaints) Gnaw with Gnash and Brawn with coming which will bring us up to Wave 6. Brawn intimates Outback, while if they've done Tailgate you'd assume they'd do Windcharger. And there's a few repaints of the Starscream mould left. But after that.... As for a Skrapnel repaint.... Beast Wars Insecticon?

Showed Ralph & Nick Swerve (TFU entry is up at www.tfu.info/2014/Autobot/GenSwerve/swerve.htm) & Cosmos last week. Both agreed Swerve is something special. Not because he's especially innovative, it's just that EVERYTHING is done right.

It is a perfect example of how to do a simple toy that works just fine as it is without feeling too basic or making you yearn for more complexity.

He is certainly a very nicely executed toy. I'm less excited by Tailgate because his legs are completely wrong. They make the figure look top heavy and they're far too thin to mimic the original G1 mould (I know these toys are true to the IDW designs, but I'm more enamored by updates to the originals). Looked at that way Swerve would make a better Windcharger than Tailgate. He's the right shape.
I realise seeker repaints are inevitable, but they spoil the new style of these figures. I love the fact these last four fit in scale with the rest of the Generations line. The Prime/Megs/Starscream moulds need to be left out of that or tweaked to become something else. At a pinch you might be able to rework the Megatron one into Warpath (maybe?), but the seekers especially now look out of place.
Moan moan moan. Must stop that. They're all great regardless of that. Very impressed with the Legends scale.

I politely disagree that these are in scale. So far, Skrapnel is the only one who is. Bumblebee, cosmos, tailgate, and swerve are all too small. They either need to be true scouts, or the deluxe range needs to be focused around scouts, for them to not look ridiculously tiny.

Point taken, and I did like your idea for refocusing the scale in the line in general. I guess what I meant was that Swerve & Cosmos can just about stand with the Deluxes and not look completely out of place, whereas the Prime/Megs/Starscream Legends can't. I see two different types of toy coming out of this range: Metroplex ornaments, and Generations mini-bots. I don't need any more of the former, certainly not hundreds of seeker repaints, but I'm loving the latter.

I would certainly agree the latter isnt as out of place as op and megs are.
And they're certainly not as ridiculous as they were in the true legend/legion class, that some people seemed to think was perfect for minibots.

Got my Tailgate and Skrapnel today.
Tailgate is really meh. Groundbuster is pointless. He really doesnt do any of his three modes well. No real robot mode (stand dozer on end, thats it). Weapon mode is a 'we say so' type weapon. Tailgate himself is extremely meh. Not a terribly great figure. Suffers from not enough paint, and not enough detail. Too small to represent a Classics version of the character, as it looks ridiculous against deluxes. Ashame it cant be a repaint of RtS Windcharger.
Skrapnel is a complete 180% from Tailgate though. Reflector like Groundbuster is a terrible accessory, and also suffers a stand on end and be done with it transformation, but at least it has a passible weapon mode, and has a lot more ambition than Groundbuster, by attempting to replicate Shrapnel's gun. Robot mode is well sculpted, unlike groundbuster. Camera mode would be great if it had a handle for a tf to hold it with. Overall, it gets props for ambition. It's a nice try, but still not a very good toy. Skrapnel is fantastic. Great size for the character. Great articulation. Decent (but simplistic) transformation. Nice kibble legs, they hang off his back in a purposefully artistic way. Only real negative comment, is he could stand a bit more sculpting detail on his chest.
I would love to see more characters that would be appropriate for this scale. Bombshell Kickback Chopshop (a real one) Venom Barrage Ransack Wheelie BW Blackaracknia BM Rattrap BM Thrust

I will speak more Generations 2014 Voyager Series 02 - Doubledealer (and the previously recieved Blitzwing) and Generations Legends 2014 Series 02 - Set of 2 (Skrapnel & Tailgate).... But see the Legends thread for some brief comments on the last two Gonna have to Disagree with Mr Jetty here now I've got Tailgate in hand. He's good. He's not Swerve good, but he's a pretty decent toy for the price and I think he looks about the right size against the big boys. Skrapnel is tinsy tiny though - the top of his head comes up to the neck of Tailgate. He's a lot of fun but I'm not sure he's quite as good as some had led me to believe. Reflector is very clever. Full reviews when I get a free few mins...

I am the happy owner of Shrapnel and Bumblebee. I love the little Reflector, but am ambivalent about Helicopter-man..or whatever his name is...some old Micromaster character I need to look up...
Still drooling for Cosmos...

With, or without a new head, Megatron would make a pretty good prebeast Quickstrike

Well at least it's not Ultra Magnus...
Dammit, why *isn't* it an Ultra Magnus? With a trailer to combine with? At that scale it'd be perfect!
I've now just made myself sad by imagining something that's never going to happen.

I'd buy it with or without a trailer if it were magnus. As nemesis, it's less than worthless to me.

Bombshell is great. A little turned off by the cannons for arms, especially since they play no part in the alt mode.
Powerglide looks good, but way too undersized. I'll stick to U. Powerglide
Windcharger looks terrible.

Where are the companions?
I see no mounting holes on the new toys (as opposed to the repaints) which worries me.

Really surprised by Bombshell. Was convinced he's be a Skrapnel remould.
LOVE him and Powerglide.
