I was in TRU today and saw all the signs for the "Buy One Get One Half Price" offer on various Hasbro products (as previously reported elsewhere). It occurred to me that I could ask one of many friends that still work there to pick up some of the new Masterpiece Optimus Prime for...
( ( (£99.99 x 2) - (£99.99 / 2) ) x 0.9 ) / 2 = £67.50 each.
I want one myself. Anybody else? All I'm looking for is cost plus postage (I normally waive postage to Hubbers but it's kinda big). I expect he'll be reduced around the summer holidays but I wouldn't expect it to be below £70-80 considering how much TRU will have paid for them.
Say here, shoot me a PM, or whatever. I'll try to arrange it for this weekend.

Okay. I've heard the offer may be ending this weekend so I'll have to pop in tomorrow. Probably wise to go for 4 in case other requests come in. If I wind up with one left over, I'm sure I'll shift it at AA. They seem to be selling for about £90 on eBay too, if I'm desperate.

Sounds like a good plan, although the offer has been meant to end for the last two Sundays I believe.

Hmm. Continuing a deal after it's supposed to end. I suspect that means sales targets weren't met. I'll give the old shop a hand in that regard tomorrow -Nick

Me, Dezzeh, Bogatan and you. Ralph is keen but presently light on funds and will probably be able to pick one up when (not if- I don't think they've sold one in months) they get reduced later in the year. I make that four. Yes?

Yeah if they are reduced at a later date I may get one. I wouldn't pay full price for one even if I saved up. It looks like a nice and fun toy but not having the car launcher feature that the 30 year old toy it is based on means it's not worth £100 in my eyes though No Eyes Spike fascinates me. £60-70 seems more reasonable for what it is. It may not drop though. Mp Grimlock and Rodders stayed at full price in the Burger store until they vanished.

Just back. The boxes may be slightly water-damaged as I got caught in a freak hailstorm coming out of the shop. Payment after I post out, I think- none of you is likely to do a runner and I'd like to get exact amounts for postage before asking anyone for cash. Please PM me with all applicable addresses and I'll get everyone sorted, hopefully by Monday. OOH! Good news, everyone! In an act of uncharacteristic generosity, the Empire of Geoffrey has increased its staff discount from 10% to 20%! This knocked 60 quid (!) off the total and, combined with vouchers that Laura kindly brought from home, brought the total cost of four MP Primes to... £234.37, or £58.59 each. Whut whut. They've got three left- I'm tempted to go back tomorrow and catch another two before the offer ends. Ordinarily I'd feel guilty about emptying a shop and leaving kids with none, but as they've only sold one to date this year I don't think I'm depriving anyone, and nothing else in the current TF assortment is anywhere near that expensive so fans looking to take advantage of the BOGOHP deal can't save much and are giving it a body-swerve too. I am the only market this toy has So yeah... if anyone else still wants one give a holler. -Nick

Right. Off to get another two. Back in a couple of hours. I'll try to grab a couple of boxes while I'm there- these guys are going to be an absolute BASTARD to pack up. The box is 5 inches deep, 11 inches tall and 2 FEET LONG. Gah.

Back. The shop is doing transfers just now so there were plenty of empty boxes lying around and The chap that looked out the last two MP Primes left me some. He's a good chap. I've got arms like Mr Tickle now, but hopefully it was worth it.
Dez, I've got your address. Everyone else, shoot me a PM.

Have I missed out on your kind efforts, Nickos? Am I too late? If I am please please don't worry, it's totally ok, I can get one reduced in the summer. But if you have any left, I'll have one.

Mr Bogatan has offered to try to get more, although the price will be slightly higher as he has no access to the magical staff discount card. The offer is supposed to end tomorrow so that could either mean close or start of business. If the offer is still on and you're keen to buy, let it be known here!

If there are more, I'd be interested.
Edit: Apologies, £88 is a little out of my price range. The highest I could go is £70.

Instead of epically imposing like the first this one is just a great toy, whether thats better or worse will vary I guess. Is it worth it? It's close to a leader class sized toy(with a lot more detail and stuff going on)with a full size trailer on top. So to me at £75 or less, yes.

Okay as long as the offer is still on I can grab some tomorrow, as TRU had at least four last time I was in, but it will be £75 and postage would probably take it to about £88.
If your willing to lose some or all the packaging a little less on postage.

Apparently you've also forgotten that I got my ones with a 20% staff discount so they only cost £60 If you can live without the box postage should be less than a tenner bringing it in under your wire. Colin- I'm not going to Parkhead! I've done two trips, spent over £350 and extended my arms by a good two inches. I think my part in this exercise is done! -Nick

Right:
Dezzeh Bogatan Stomski Knightbeat kevin (whoever you are)
Two questions.
1) Where do you live? 2) Do you want the box?
Mr Bogatan has already made arrangements, and Dez has already sent his address. Everybody else needs to speak up. If Andy K manages to find more and the offer's still on, I'm sure he'll make it known here.
