But to be slightly on-topic, looking at that list of toys it still feels odd that Siege is on the list for 2018. Due to distribution and the like it still feels like a 2019 line to me. Even though I know I played with a couple of Siege toys in late 2018...

The legion Thunderhoof was 2016. Gnaw was the year after I think.
Yes, you may now jump out the window.

The Gnaw-fest went on well into 2017 though because he was the TFN badge that year. So it's more like 2.5 years since, not 4.

Go on then, I'm going to do this... 5. Siege Skytread Flywheels - about as good an update as you could hope for. Not sure if it's a shame he doesn't have individual robot modes or a shame that POTP Battletrap does. 4. POTP Blot - Rippersnapper and Blot were easily the best of the bunch, and there's not a lot between them, so Blot wins mostly by being Blot 3. POTP Blast Off - there's something about those colours! 2. Siege Sideswipe - the toy that completely changed my mind on Siege once I had it in the plastic. So fiddlable, and solid, and pushing my nostalgia buttons 1. Legends Windblade - beautiful redeco, one of the last great ones before Takara just started selling the Western releases. The Targetmaster partner is great, and the clear-bladed variant on the standard Windblade sword is very pretty, and appropriate. Honourable mentions to The Plop Father (I love cannoli), and Frostferatu for being the two best BotBots.

I didn't really buy many toys that year - until the BB movie ones came out, so this list should probably be all VW Bumblebee toys, but I'll make it a bit more varied:
5. POTP Darkwing/Blackwing. Good update of one of my favourite characters. Bought for my birthday. Nothing special though, it's just Darkwing.
4. POTP Blot - really nice figure and just love the erm...ogre/mole mode? Rippersnapper is actually my favourite Terracon, but this update is just the best which even meant buying this over my fave. One of my only impulse buys of the year.
3. Studio Series Blackout. This is just a guess, as I don't own this toy and have never played with one, but it looks absolutely brilliant and one day I will save up and get one (when it is cheaper than it is at the moment).
2. Movie MP 07 Bumblebee VW beetle. It's Bumblebee and he is a VW beetle again! On display in my living room with the little metal Charlie figure from that Non Transforming (Dickie?) set. Christmas present!
1. Power Charge Bumblebee. It's Bumblebee and he is a VW Beetle again but this time is nice and big, has a nicer transformation and is just great fun to mess around with!
Edit: This was also the year I got Fanstoys Springer and Arcee and I feel they should be on this list as they were still Transformers purchases as far as I'm concerned, but I'm probably not allowed to count them.

Good to see lots of PotP Terrorcon appreciation.
As a hardcore '84/'85er I even surprise myself how much I love the Terrorcons. But Hun-Gar, Cutthroat and Blot were some of the last TFs I bought during my early years. And their bonkers creature modes and clever bios intrigued me. The PotP updates were long welcomed and the four deluxes in particular are outstanding and a lot of fun.

Very tempted just to list all the Thunderhoovers here, but:
5. Deployer Overload - he fires his balls! 4. Warrior Bisk - craziness. 3. One Step Thunderhoof - where it all began. 2. Warrior Strongarm - great character and a half decent toy compared to the other awful early ones. 1. Legion Thunderhoof - the main man. Still on my desk within arm's reach and still fiddled with.
Legion Fixit deserves a place here too simply because he's very show accurate and uses the Legion scale properly - he's the right size to go with the Warriors rather than just being a smaller version of a bigger toy.
Adventure would be a totally different five.

I got Legion and Warrior Thunderhoofs. Don't think I got the one-step. I didn't really get into one-steps until Cyberverse, when they suddenly became good.

How very dare you! 1-step Thunderwoof is brilliant.
The least fun of those was the big 3-Step Thunderhoover. Plastic tat that one.
