Actually, as much as I love cassettes; this much is enough for now. I should prefer to pray to the Great Pumpkin to grant a reissue Devastator. I think it would only make sense what with ROTF out and it would also make for a wonderful fulfillment of the G1 Decepticons available. Hopefully, if enough Encore Bruticuses are sold, we may yet get a Devastator reissue. Here's hoping! My original is barely standing... I got the "Woollies" re-releases in the 90s and the plastic is very brittle. I think I snapped the purple hip connector the first time I combined them.

I just have fond memories of the Constructicons is all. They were pretty much as iconic as Megatron, Soundwave, the Seekers and the Cassettes.
Bruticus not so much - Bruticus is most memorable for Starscream's Brigade and then a couple of good Swindle stories in season 3. A fine character, for sure, but not as basically important as Devastator. Devastator's intro in the Marvel comics was also amazing.
And scale wise, at least in robot modes the Constructicons measure up to the G1 Autobots fairly well. Their vehicle modes are, sadly, "too small" - but whatever...
Still - I do appreciate Bruticus being reissued. I think the Combaticons are some of the strongest characters in the TF universe. It will be lovely to have them.
Encore encore!

Oh - and I'd like the reissue Devastator box to have little see through windows where you can see each Constructicon - just like the original packaging.
Speaking of original packaging - that's another thing I don't like about post-G1 toys. Cards, cards, cards have replaced boxes.
And no more techspecs that are well written and elaborate. Only gibberish about super positron cannons pounding the enemy to bits or some such...
The old TFs were ace all around.

If there is a re-issue Devastator coming, this makes me very happy. I would snap one up like a shot!

I'd much prefer to see more unusual toys get the Encore treatment. Like imagine a set of Japanese cassettes, or Headmaster heads?

Yes but as we learnt from Stepper, people only want the rare toys because they're rare, not because they're desirable.

Finding all the bits for a complete Devastator is such a pain in the ass, a new reissue would sell quite well to the collector market, I feel.
I'm not seeing any chatter at all online about this 'Encore', so I guess it's vapour-ware though I would be delighted to be wrong in this instance.

A few years back I succumbed to that KO version for parts and weapons. But alas, they did not fit.
That blurry photo did have a blue "Tomy Takara" logo on the corner. I still have hope!

As nice as Encore Devastator would be - and of course I'd love it... I could actually go for a Throttlebot reissue pack now... they're just so cute, and the way Budiansky did the characters; with the whole Scraplets story, was great. With the Daisuken casette adventure set, it would be possible to have Ratbat interact with them, which would be fun. And finally - I would love it if Takara-Tomy made the bold move to go back and retro-design G1 Straxus Pete

Any Encore would need to fix the breakable waist connector problem. ^^ is why my Constructicons have remained as individuals since 1993. Perhaps if I sacrifice all my Mini-Cons to the microwave, TomyTakara will produce Encore Devastator.

It doesn't seem that is evidence of a Devastator reissue (I'm sure it can't be far off though) but a display of the original prototype concepts. The page has been updated with more pics, it is rather interesting!

So Encore #19 (Cassette Big Mission pack 3) is out any day now. Have any Encores been announced past this? I'm just wondering if the line has quietly died. Anyone know? Just wondered if Animated is replacing it in Japan as there's been no Encore updates for a while.
