No worries mate. I just got the impression you might have regretted getting them from what you'd said. I shall have a look at Xybertoys for them methinks. My Classics Ironhide is looking quite worse for wear, especially on the chrome.

Oh, Ralph, if/when I get the Encore ones you are welcome to my old Ratchet and Ironhide. Little scuffed, but in good condition and weapons. I'd just want postage, so if you end up at AA this year, you can get me a pint or something.

BUT I STILL DON'T KNOW IF THE HANDS HAVE STICKERS OR ARE PAINTED!!!!!!! I just opened my Encore Ratchet, they're painted. The paint is a kinda different white to the plastic though, in much the same way Sideswipe's red plastic and red painted diecast didn't match up. The rubber tyres smell bad. Also, worth getting them from Toyspark on ebay.

Hey, there are cardboard cutouts giving Ironhide and Ratchet proper faces and windscreens!
Anybody stuck theirs on?

Yeah I laughed when I saw those. Unfortunately they are on the small tab on the flaps of the box (where robot points traditionally used to be), which means you have to wreck the box to use them.

Mine are cut-outs, and popped out easily. I'm not sure of the best way to put them on, as they look stupid they way I have them.

My payment request arrived from HLJ for Sky Lynx, so now he's all paid up and should soon be winging his way here.
Incidentally, HLJ have already discontinued Sky Lynx.
Postage was around £20; what are people's guestimates for what Omega Supreme's will be?

I received a big box of TFs the other day from Japan, and the only problem I had was that Encore Megatron didn't come with a sticker sheet or instructions.
He was still sealed, and there were no marks on the back of the insert where the stickers would normally be taped.
Anybody else have this problem? Pain in the arse, as now I have to fork out for Reprolabels.

I could do with a shiny new Metroplex and Skywarp. Something else to add to the 'when earning again' dream pile. I am so going to blow my first month's wages in whatever job I end up in on shitloads of plastic robot toys and comic books.

Metroplex I've been thinking of getting a second hand one for a while now, but this will do even better. A massive part of my childhood, Christmas 198x, huzzah!

I'm hoping that because it's a Japanese reissue that Metroplex will have nice and shiny chromed legs and rubber wheels. I had more fun with that toy than any other as a child and although I still have an original I will buy this again. I'll also be after Thundercracker and Skywarp as I've only got second hand versions at the moment and they've seen better days.
Keep 'em coming, Takara/Tomy.

I do hope this results in a Metrotitan re-issue. I would be all over that like a fly on shit. Such a lovely colour scheme which suits the mould much better.

As far as I was aware all of the encore stuff so far is straight rereleases, just in another new set of packaging. (But if I'm wrong someone will set me straight no doubt.) Karl The more recent Encores have (or will have) some modifcations from the originals. Jazz has a painted blue visor, Sky Lynx has painted lynx eyes, Omega Supreme will have a face under his helmet (not sure how that will work without obscuring the light-up feature though) and the upcoming Minibots all have new paint detailing. So with this trend for add-ons I'd expect Metroplex to be the deluxe rubber tyres/chromed thighs version with perhaps a few extra paint apps, for example a few to make Slammer/Scamper/Six-Gun less boring. TC and 'warp could have some new details too.

All they need to add to Metroplex is a couple of those Micromaster ramp adaptors like the one Metrotitan has to connect his base mode to any other MM base- one for each side. It would make a great base-bloke perfect.

Hrm... Now I think about it I may have to grab myself a Blades to land on Metroplex's helipad. Many a time did I land that 'copter there as a child.
(At the time I never understood why Blades' head folded forward, the idea of combiners seemingly lost on me, but this old man does whittle on...)

Bigger boxes? Fort Max next? Bigger boxes indeed - because they're releasing bigger Transformers. Past reissues have generally been small figures such as Autobot Cars and Strike Planes. There were exceptions, of course, such as Convoy and Megatron, whilst others such as Predaking and Star Convoy were more like one-off special editions than part of the reissue series. Which means that Encore, which initially looked like it might be the same old, same old reissues, is starting to look rather more interesting. Fortress Maximus or Overlord, indeed.
