If you've got a big enough suitcase to get him home without needing his own seat on the plane, absolutely. When you think the RRP for 7 inch Voyagers over here is £25, to spend just over three times that on one of the most impressive looking figures in the history of the toyline...

Surprise trip to the US on business next week. Do I pop to TRU and get a US Metroplex for $130/£80? Yes do it!

Makes sure you go with a large and mostly empty suitcase. But yes £80 for the full voice chip version. No question.

I doubt there'll be room in my case for both Metroplex and Beast Hunters Ultimate Fire Breath Predaking and Optimus Prime... Although the latter two are pretty likely to be on half price sale in the UK at some point.
Plus... US sound chip!

Predaking and Prime are already down to £32 on Amazon. I'd say Metroplex is a much higher priority.

Thread resurrection! Interesting concept sketches for Metroplex here. I like the idea that his hands could have transformed into gun platforms. Also intriguing that the artist originally thought this was a Prime line toy.

I can see the hand cannons in the final design: the fingers to look like gun barrels on the production toy

Here's hoping for Trypticon in a sale! (He says, still waiting for FoC Metroplex in a sale.) I patiently waited for that to happen. I was tempted but in no way was paying full retail when the UK version had had the sound chip gutted of the phrases. Metroplex shelfwarmed and gathered dust in the large TRU we used to have. Then one day he vanished and was replaced by old RPM's. -Ralph

Aye - that was a depressing moment for me, also. I still live in hope though that one day they'll surface in B&M or something...

I can only assume that they gained sentience, broke free of their packaging, and are now living peacefully in a remote corner of the Highlands. (What? Occam's Razor, innit..?)

Phil loves his US Metroplex with second 3p gun. He doesn't come out to play often enough.

He must make up for this oversight by buying Titans Return Fortress Maximus.

I may get a Trypticon though. If the kids shoes are holding up ok when he comes out.

I had planned to get Matroplex but then when I learned the UK version had a neutered voicebox I decided not to pay full price but to wait for a sale. It was never discounted alas.

Yes the UK release missing bits and being not fun to play with made it an easy pass.
Fortress Maximus however...I do hope he is a bit more substantial feeling than Metroplex. When having a shot of Phil's there were a few times I thought I would break it.
