Right. Tomorrow we fly out to Singapore for an action-packed 4 day race to every tourist attraction we can reach within the time. We'll be hitting Legoland Malaysia and Universal Studios Singapore, that includes the Transformers ride. We're also staying near Orchard Road, the major shopping district that contains a Toys'r'us and Japanese department store Takashimaya, which has access to copious amounts of Takara TF toys. Basically, if anybody is looking for current or recent-past Japanese toys at more than Japanese but less than import prices, give a holla. No guarantees, but I'll locate what I can. I'll also make a list of all I can find there. Here in Kuching there's a Toys'r'us in a local mall. It has the latest wave of Beast Hunters, whichever wave of deluxe Generations/Universe/Whatever the f*** it is with Ultra Magnus, Sideswipe, Air Raid et al and voyager Soundwave, Blaster and Soundblaster. They're about UK retail, or slightly higher (voyagers are about £25). Whatever you want, get in touch. Here, PM, whatever. Just remember I'm 7 hours ahead -Nick

I've found that other sellers are able to source current releases better than I. This is purely for anyone on t'TMUK who has something specific on their to-get list that I might be able to pick up. I don't know yet how they'll compare to AA prices.

Takashimaya was a bust in terms of anything I wanted to pick up. No MP figures at all. They did, however, have:
Hasbro: Generations Springer : £27.50 Generations Blitzwing : £27.50 Generations Cliffjumper (Prime vehicle, G1 head): £10 Generations deluxe Ultra Magnus, Air Raid, Sideswipe & Starscream (and probably Kickback): £15 Prime deluxe (pretty much any character you can name): £25(!) Prime deluxe (first couple of waves): £8.50 Prime Dark Energon deluxe (Knockout, Starscream/Skywarp, Bumblebee & Wheeljack/Slicer): £10 Prime voyager (Bulkhead & Starscream): £15 First Edition Bulkhead: £10 Beast Hunters Predaking (big fella- can't remember price but he was much bigger than a voyager. Packaged in beast mode)
Takara Alternity Banzai-Tron(?): £55(!) Weaponizer Optimus Prime: £40 Platinum Edition Ultra Magnus (Weaponizer Optimus Prime repaint with big ol' hammer and swanky box): £40 Prime voyager (Optimus Prime, Black Optimus Prime & Liocnovoy-coloured Leo Prime): £27.50 Optimus Prime vs Gaea Unicron twin pack: £83
Yeah.
Anybody?

That was pretty much my response, yes. Haven't checked the Toys'r'us further down Orchard Road, mind. They may have a better Generations selection. Oh shit! Generations!

Sure! Gladly, in fact! Went to Toys'r'us in orchard Road today- it looked smaller because it had a lot less of the mall's facade than it did the last time I was there, but turns out that's only because it has been massively expanded to cover the entire upper floor! It had the same bumf as everywhere else with a few additions: YOTS Platinum Edition Optimus Prime £60 YOTS Platinum Edition Omega Supreme £75 Masterpiece Thundercracker £50 The Springers and Blitzwings were substantially cheaper at £20 each, and among the mountains of them hid one FOC Blaster and Grimlock. They also had a massive selection of Bot Shots- I dug through dozens of the individual ones looking for a Prowl, but to no avail- they only had Sunstorm, Bumblebee, Ironhide, black Ironhide, Powerglide and Leadfoot. Sorry Ian I picked up the Blaster for myself and the Grimlock for... anybody. -Nick

Single Prowl doesn't exist. He's only in a three pack 100_2222 by philip_ayres, on Flickr If you should go back and they still have a £20 Springer.......

Can do Phil. I'm hitting the other TRU in town tomorrow after Universal Studios.
Speaking of Universal Studios, does anyone want a t-shirt or something from the Transformers ride?

But if they have or a baseball cap for my extensive hat collection would be something I'd not say no to. Karl.

The only distinctive caps (as in ones that didn't just have bot or con logos) were only available in kids' sizes. Sorry.
I did pick up a few t-shirts for the stall that.. well, that I hope people will buy. I got a couple of exclusive figures, and almost bought a Takara FOC Soundblaster. Then I realised I wouldn't have enough Sing dollars for the stuff folks have asked for here and put it back. It was crazy money anyway.

Yes. T-shirts. Going out to Toys'r'us now to fetch Phil's Springer and Colin's Dark Energon chappies. I'll get an extra Wheeljack because he's Slicer and he looks nifty and I'm sure someone will want it. Anyone who can live without packaging please let me know as case space is finite. I'm okay from Singapore to Kuching but the rest of my clothes and such will leave little space.

Okay. Back. Got the Dark Energon figures, got the best looking Springer (they all had varying degrees of flash or fill marks on the sides of the head, so I dug through until I found the best one) and, due to a special offer, FOC Ravage, Rumble, Frenzy and Ratbat. Woo.
My case is pretty much to capacity now. If anyone is unconcerned with their bubbles (I'll cut the figure out and keep the card/boxback- they're mono-lingual US packaging so worth seeing) let me know. It will make my life easier when I'm packing up to get home on Tuesday.
Unless the haze gets worse and they shut the airports. Then I'll have a bit more time.

Thanks very much sir. You do indeed have a heart of gold. Well not made of actual gold, else it wouldn't be able to function.
As for the packaging, as far as I am concerned do what ever is more convenient for yourself.

Ta. I'll keep them undiminished if it's feasible, but I might have to just hand you the figures and cardbacks depending on how things work out. It's an expanding case and only weighed 11.3kg with all the toys and about half my clothes in it, so we could be all right.

Given that I'm in Singapore at the moment, I thought I’d note the following that, given enough warning, I could pick up if anyone's interested:
Platinum RiD Grimlock and Bumblebee for 129.90 SGD. Still expensive, but maybe less so than elsewhere. CW Legends Vipers, 2 for 20 SGD in a sale. Not a bad price there. And Reissue/Platinum Insecticons for about 20 pounds.
Apologies for the discrepancies and vagueness in the pricings, but it's a little overwhelming here. But if you're interested in any of those, shout and I'll see what I can do.

What did the grand Galvatron cost? We're there any more of those? Or is that too big to transport back?

Sadly I bought it from a Sunday-only market. Seriously. I'll keep my eyes open, but no regular stores seem to have it.
