Nah. That's going "Oh look! All these toys are half price! See? This one used to be £200!" during the Christmas rush.

Nah. That's going "Oh look! All these toys are half price! See? This one used to be £200!" during the Christmas rush. So cynical. And also, I fear, accurate.

You think they should be charging £1999.90? Yes. Its for the good of all those long suffering wives/husbands/partners/children out there that prices are high so that nobody can buy toys instead of food and shoes.

Even if that is a deliberate ploy to sell it 'half price' in a month that is simply outrageous. That must be the most expensive UK released Transformer ever surely? I love mine, it's brilliant, but it's not even a £100 toy, let alone twice that.
The prices for these platinums don't make sense. Someone somewhere along the route these are taking from the east to the west is putting on one heck of a markup because going direct like Kapow do makes an enormous difference.

MP Op and Soundwave topped the ton. The Blaster and Perceptor set did too recently. Apart from that.....
I think Platinum Trypticon has the record by a country mile!

Platinum/Masterpiece/Year Of The... toys have been enthusiasticaly priced in TRU for a few years now so I doubt Trypticon is part of a 'sell it at half price in a month' strategy. TRU really do seem to think they can sell special releases at a high premium!
Not that I see them in the Burger store anyway!

What was Metroplex here? Did he beat MP Soundwave? They were both about £120 weren't they? I remember that RotF Devastator set being ridiculous but I don't think it was over £100.
I remember feeling like a PROPER fan handing over £100 for MP10 in TRU. Yeah, Billy big spuds the hardcore fan. Heh. These days it's getting far too frequent.

Metroplex was £125 tmukhub.proboards.com/post/158438/threadCan't find a price for Davestator but I can see Nick talking about it being reduced to £70 in the sightings thread.

Something in the depths of my mind is saying Devastator was £89.99 initially. Which blew my mind when I saw that. Not least because it looked rubbish. Metroplex tops Soundwave, I checked my records and Soundwave was £115 on release in August 2013.

That's cos Davestator is pish. A toy that size missing a key Transformers gimmick, namely the ability to turn the vehicles into robots? No thank you, not even remotely tempted especially when there's a Legends version that does do that!

At current rates, £200 for Trypticon equates to $306 I see what I did wrong. I accidentally had euro entered instead of pound. They're next to each other in my converter. It is impossible to express my exasperation at that new price. Did Hasbro UK get taken over by money grubbing Funpub?

No thank you, not even rem. rely tempted especially when there's a Legends version that does do that! I'm sure Ive explained this before, hes not missing a gimmick he has an extra gimmick. ROTF Devastator is a Sextetocon, which is awesome. Solocon - almost everybody, for example Actionmaster Thundercracker Duocon - Flywheels Triocon - Magmatron Quartetocon - ?? ? ?? Quintocon - ?? ?? Sextetocon - Devastator Like I said, awesome!
