Perhaps people become so terrified when they see the Macra that the screen goes blank for a few seconds to replicate that 'missing episodes' feel.
Also, remember the game Pipe Mania? Reroute the pipes on a puzzle level to make the nasty gas poison the Macra!

That's some boss battle at the end. I know it's only a demo, but "supposed to lose" followed by a Game Over? Harsh!

Harsh! -Nick Well, that was me being a bit silly, but in all seriousness I am making the Macra unbeatable, as they are big scary monsters which must be defeated by subtlety rather than smashing them, as that is not what Doctor Who stands for! I like the pipe game idea! I will have a think about how to do that! |

I think there needs to be some sort of moment where you need to swap from one version of the party's sprites to another in order to process, facilitated by the clothes tidying machines.
Also, there should be some sort of moment where you have to play a rhythmn game in order to escape capture by performing the Highland Fling (which as we know ends with one throwing oneself out of a window)
