Auto Assembly 2013 Late Booking Sale Announced

We're less than three weeks away from Auto Assembly 2013 and once again we're on collision course for a new European attendance record but as always, we're not satisfied with just doing that - we want to smash our old record just like we did last year! We've seen our friends at other conventions try to make things easier for some people to attend their events offering payment plans with tickets or run discount schemes and we wanted to do something in the closing stages of pre-registrations to help as many of you as possible to be able to attend Auto Assembly this year and be a part of another record-breaking year. So what are we doing?

Well, between now and 1st August 2013 when pre-registrations close, we are now offering all tickets for Auto Assembly 2013 at a reduced price of anything up to 20% off! For just two weeks, we have slashed the price of full weekend adult tickets by 20% making them just £40! Youth and Eldery passes have also been dropped in price to just £30 making it even easier for you to afford to get to the convention! But what about those of you who are only able to make it for a single day?

Well, prices for the one day tickets are also being slashed! Saturday tickets are cut to £25 for adults and £20 for concessions and Sunday tickets are £23 for adults and £18 for concessions. Saturday places are filling up quickly though so we'd recommend that you get in quickly for these! Don't worry if you've already booked as we're not forgetting about you - we're hoping to work on something special for all of you, possibly even an extra discount on Auto Assembly 2014 tickets when these go on sale at this year's convention...!

But seriously, I can imagine that many folk who paid full price for their tickets in good faith would quite reasonably have grounds for being somewhat unhappy.

No-one ever accused the AA crew of being subtle.

People might get angry about this, but those who have already bought their tickets did so of their own free will and obviously felt that the original pricing structure was fair. If this promotion brings in a few more bodies that might come back next year, all the better.

Generally, I find it poor form if something is advertised for almost a year at a certain price then suddenly drops the month before the event. It's an easy way to lose good will. It doesn't affect me as I am Dealer Scum but had I paid full price I would be absolutely livid. It's a bit different from an early bird discount.

Got to say I would feel the same way as Ralph if I had paid.

I imagine hitting 1000 attendees is a big deal for Simon and the organisers but as Nick said, not subtle.

On the other hand anyone booking now is either going to pay much more for accommodation of have to stay much further out so are still going to be paying more than anyone booking a few months ago.

Of course, an extra discount on next years show is only useful to people who are going next year, and possibly whom are in a position to make that decision a full year in advance - which is not necessarily the case for everyone due to work, family and financial commitments.

I can see why people would be unhappy.

As someone who has yet to finally decide I will nonetheless appreciate the discount! So long as I am not taken outside and beaten by full paying attendees.
