Agreed. The Robot Masters figure is one of my favourites in my collection. Of Robot Masters. (Don't make me choose any further than that! It'd be traumatic.)

But it's not Wheeljack, it's Que! I think it was meant to be Wheeljack originally (and indeed the TFWiki page states that the character has both names), but my guess is that Michael Bay changed it, because he'd never heard of a "Wheeljack", and knowing that there were only four or five original G1 characters, he decided that there was room to create his own. (This is all speculation. And lies. But any chance... It's Monday morning.) I believe that the name "Q" is also a reference to the car which it transforms into. At least, that is what I recall hearing. In the final analysis I reckon that the attitude of writer and director was probably that it didn't really matter much what the character was called, because the majority of the audience wouldn't really worry too much about it anyway. (And on that note I think that they would probably be barking up the right tree). But to bring things back to the subject at hand, the Masterpiece Star Saber looks decent enough - although it is a shame that the brainmaster isn't going to be included as a separate piece to his power-ups. It is a nice looking piece, but I think that having owned the Robotmasters Star Saber for several years (before he volunteered for charitable donation to this years Toy-Fu stock) I think my need to have owned a Star Saber has been somewhat slaked. In other times I would have jumped at the prospect of having him to lead my Brave toys (I think of them as former Cybertronian Empire citizens you see), but now he falls into the category of "I am glad that he exists" but I don't feel driven to own one myself. Yes, I can just about see Star Saber's little chap also. *snigger* Hehehehe. Etc.
The question is whether it's removable, or molded in there.

No, quite right to maintain hope. I am too quick to assume the worst I think. (I have become too, as the saying goes, "used to disappointment"). Karl

He's only as big as Prowl? I was expecting a MP-10 sized figure!

I was confused too at first, but it is actually the smaller Saber robot they are comparing.

Goodness, looking very impressive actually! How acurate is it compared to the original toy and cartoon?

Well I know a certain camelid deity who is going to be *very* excited when he's back on here.

I have zero attachment to Star Saber, but have to admit this is starting to look like something I might want to pick up (perhaps I should be thankful that magnus looks less and less like that...).

I'm like you, Jim, the character and show mean very little to me, passed me by completly, but this figuroon is looking very nice indeed! I wont be getting one I don't think, but he's looking a much better Masterpiece than Magnus (doesn't have a freaky 'inner-face' for one thing).

I first saw Star Sabre in a catalog in 92 and have lusted after this Jetfire upgrade/Prime as a Jet for years. I bought the Mega SCF version. I bought the Robotmasters version - currently standing on my desk. I want it simply because it looks a good toy.

I've loved Victory ever since getting those awful star-dubs episodes back in the early 00's. Cannot wait to have this guy standing next to the original. So hopeful for a Victory Leo too..

I want it simply because it looks a good toy. It sure does. Gives me fresh hope in the MP line, after the (imo) disappointing Bumblebee and Ultra Magnus.

These new pictures fill me with joy. The fact the main head in jet mode has been integrated with a little thought and that the brainmaster appears to have loads of articulation itself is great news. The head sculpt of the small robot is also A+.
