Really impressed that they've given such bulky arms such a wide range of motion.

Dammit, stop showing us these pictures! I've given Kapow my deposit, now I must sit here helplessly until March or April. What a painful life it is I lead...

Damn you! ;-)
Is that stand something that's going to be included with Star Saber, or is it from somewhere else?

WITH Star Saber.
Isn't he shown using it as a shield in a previous picture?

Ah yes. I could have remembered or figured that out myself. But my brain today is mush. Thanks. :-)

I hate to say it, but I am not a big fan of the animation colours on Star Sabre. It pretty much boils down to the blue strips around the wrists, for some reason they are way too much. I'm not saying the original toy had the most subtle colours, but the gold instead of yellow and the blues and reds being just slightly toned down made it look a bit more...classy.
Having said all that the colours on Sabre look fantastic.

Just catching up on these pics. I do like that stand - it is a nice inclusion, and exactly the sort of thing I was hoping they would include. I actually quite like the show colours as well. That may be because my primary exposure to Star Saber is from multiple viewings of Victory over the last decade or so - that and some slightly tipsy high-jinxs in the pub a while back of course. :-)

I don't buy many TFs anymore but I snap pre-ordered this without even knowing how it looked. Not surprised to find out he looks great(and huge)!

....my primary exposure to Star Saber is from multiple viewings of Victory over the last decade or so... You've managed to stomach watching it more than once? I'm impressed. :-) It's not the worst of the Japanese G1 series, mind (that's Headmasters) but it's not the best either (that's Masterforce). Possibly the best final-episode battle of any series, though. And yep, he's still looking good. Come on, March..! Push! Crawl right up on your kne- No, wait, that's something else.

Possibly the best final-episode battle of any series, though. Victory is fine as a "one episode a night show". Inoffensive fair to watch over dinner or something - especially the dubbed version. I've only watched it subbed two or three times and found it pretty bland that way. Headmasters by contrast I couldn't actually finish watching with the subs and got rid of having only seen half of it in that format. Masterforce by contrast I have no real idea how many times I have seen, it being my joint favourite TF series. Karl

Damn. That robot head isn't as integrated as well as I'd thought from one of the earlier pics #firstworldproblems

I just don't get that. Why does everyone think Masterforce is so good? it's barely even about Transformers. It's 30 episodes of annoying kids versus a giant brain, with a moderately entertaining final few episodes once they all start acting like robots.
Headmasters rules! it's brilliant!

I doubt theres enough difference for a proper separate release, even as a convention exclusive like Silverstreak got, but maybe if they produce a second run down the line it's possible they'd tweak the colours more in line with the toy.
I'd certainly prefer it, but not enough to hold off getting the animation colours as soon as possible.
That photo of the back has me wondering again about Victory Leo. I'm trying to figure out if theres any reason for that flip up panel to be there other than it appears to make the back flat. If thats the case is there a reason to flatten the back other than to make a level surface for VL to fit to.
There also seems to be a screw hole or port at the base of the leg hidden by the tail fins that look like being in the right place for VL.
